Everything about this hotel was 5 star, the beautiful comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and delicious breakfast. They were happy to cater for our vegan diet. We had evenings out for dinner and one in the hotel, we should have had all in the hotel as it was so good. The hotel is a twenty mi Ute walk to Galle Fort I will be recommending this lovely hotel to all my friends and family. O

Absolutely Outstanding Experience! Our stay at the Dormero Hotel in Sri Lanka was nothing short of amazing! The staff here is truly the best we have ever encountered – attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. The hotel itself is stunning, with a fantastic ambiance and exceptional hospitality. Without even asking, they graciously upgraded our room because there was availability – such a thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more special. Wasn't expecting much but this place was our favourite place to stay during our whole trip! The rooms were really spacious and very clean and comfortable. this was important to us as we were travelling with 2 small kids. The staff were amazing, I didn't catch their names but the girl doing front of house and the guy helping at breakfast were so friendly. They even helped out with our baby so I could eat breakfast in peace! The whole property is very chilled and relaxing but f you want more action it's just a short walk to the main road in Unawatuna, walkable or short tuk tuk to the beach. We would have extended our stay if we had more time. There were a few negative reviews about breakfast but they've clearly upped their game, lots on offer and very delicious! We loved the egg hoppers. Thank you

Everything was truly excellent. The aesthetics of the resort are absolutely beautiful and calming, the rooms are nicely decorated and the bathroom is really spacious and clean. The bed slept super comfortable. Breakfast was truly delicious, coffee great too. Really everything was brilliant. Felt totally at ease staying at this resort. Wish we could stay longer!

Unbeatable location in Hikkaduwa! The two main surf breaks are right at your doorstep. Breakfast included is amazing, actually everything on the menu is incredible. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. We stayed here twice on our trip and decided on the King Room with Sea View for our second stay (first stay was Garden View) both rooms were lovely but can’t beat the Sea View room. Sun beds by the beach were an extra bonus! Loved our multiple stays here.

Ive just returned from the most enjoyable stay in Galle at the Sun House. The staff and accommodation was everything that I was looking for. The hotel has recently been refurbished with the greatest respect to all the original features of the building and it just hit the spot. Delightful and helpful staff which made my stay. A big thank you to all the staff for making my trip memorable, I look forward to my next visit!

    Dont often give full marks but staying at Angel beach was an amazing experience. The beach front location is spectacular and the pool area is perfect for relaxing in a contemporary atmosphere. But above all that, it was the staff that made our stay unforgettable. Let me name a few: the general manager Delshan went above and beyond during our stay, we never experienced such a comitted and professional manager at any hotel! But also other staff like Sahan (house keeping who has great pride in towel art) and Pabasara at reception who always was very attentive. But others too, thanks for an amazing experience!

    The environment was really great and something new for my family and specially for my children. The food really freshly cooked and served upon order.     Everything except for the few negative aspects I described but those are not so important. The room was big enough and the bathroom was oversized. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as Unawatuna Beach. I liked the location, you can find a bus stand, and tuk-tuks are very easy.

    The vibe that Galle fort shares during anytime of the day is marvelous. It is a super child friendly place with amazing shops and places at every corner. It has the ambience of a unique blend between antiquity and modernity filled with aesthetic taste of rich culture and art. Seems its potential is still untapped fully. Loved the eateries and little cafes designed with elegance and charm. It showcases the serenity of a typical European port city with Dutch colonial architecture.

    All sea view rooms and the room we stayed in was very spacious . A few minutes walk to jungle beach. The staff was friendly and even made arrangements to get our meals sorted. There is a kitchen and if we bring the raw materials we can even cook on our own , just need to pay them for the space we use. Over all I enjoyed unwatuna because it was conveniently located too.

    Stayed at Thaala Bentota recently and had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent—right by the beach with easy and direct access, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel itself is well-maintained with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a good variety and fresh options. Dinner buffet had fewer choices in comparison, but the quality was still decent and satisfying for the price. Overall, a very good place to stay if you’re looking for beachfront accommodation with good service and a peaceful vibe.

    We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or...

    We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or 5 min tuk tuk drive from Ahangama. It was the right decision as Ahangama was twice as busy and Kabalana beach was way better. Restaurants near us were really nice too and with the most famous night club in Sri Lanka called Trax round the corner!

I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

    Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

    A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

    Koggalla is small ,but has the same nice beaches and...

    Koggalla is small ,but has the same nice beaches and restaurants as the other towns on the coast.Yes a bit more basic,but also less crowded . We found the locals very friendly and niceThe stilt fishing demonstration is a cool thing to see and just be aware that you pay for pictures or videos.Nothing much and we had a fun time with all 5 guys showing us the ropes.If you respect them they will show you kindness and will be very friendly.We even delivered some chocolate for their kids later ,because we were staying so close to their beach.And that really made their day. Small gesture,but big enjoyment for everybody
