United KingdomI've been honoured to be among the very first guests in this absolutely delightful tiny house, in one of the most picturesque parts of the Latvian countryside. This house is the perfect countryside escape for a small family or couple, if you wish to work from home (there is good WiFi) or spend some chilled time away from the city buzz. There you will be surrounded by silence, greenery, a small pond and wildlife. Although the tiny house opened only recently, the host Linda is very experienced as she has been running a huge 4* hotel in central Riga for many years. Her good taste and high standards of hospitality are reflected in every detail - everything is immaculately clean and well organised. There is a perfect sized fridge-freezer and cooker to store enough food and to cook for a few days.
The house has climate control (aircon and heater) to keep you comfortable in any weather. There is a perfect outside seating area, place for bbq, bonfire, and hot tub. The host has left some warm blankets to keep you warm and some table games. Although it was raining while we were staying there, my favourite thing was early morning coffee at the outside seating area and reading my book in complete silence. Exactly what I needed!
We were lucky to have a private tour around Vecpiebalga, an area in Latvia known for its picturesque sceneries, many lakes, water lilies and a number of famous Latvian writers who used to live there and write very famous Latvian novels.
Salnēni is definitely a place worth visiting! Highly recommend & will return myself!
