I stayed with my wife for anniversary. We drove from Sacramento and got there with no problem. Staff contacted us prior our arrival to offer us options so we could personalized our room (I never seen this before in other hotels). Property was very lovely, we enjoyed the pool view and had amazing time down there. A super perk is that is only 4 minutes away from Dona Estela cousin. Overall a must place to stay!

after i booked the room i read reviews that were very negative so i was worried but when i got there and saw the property for myself it was beautiful the staff was very friendly the security was awesome there are 2 security check points one off the main street when you turn in to the property and one at the gate i loved that specially since i was travelling with my wife and kids the villa was beautiful remodeled and when you go out to your balcony the beach is right there!! and i loved that they even roped off the beach i felt very safe and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and newly remodeled the pool and jacuzzi are old and the water was a bit dirty but they were remodeling that area when we were there i dont like how they charge 600.00 deposit at check in it took my bank 5 days to return the funds back to my account but i understand why that security deposit is so high being in rosarito and you get alot of 18 year olds that go there to get drunk and party alot of them cant afford to pay a 600.00 security deposit which is good for travelers like us that are travelling with our families that just want to come out to relax and eat good food

The staff are great. There is a varied menu and the food was always banging (amazing). Room service is efficient and was so handy to have available while I was stuck in an all day meeting. I forget the name of the chap on the bar near the sports room, but he's a top man! The level of English is varied but it doesn't deter staff from trying their best to help you. Hopefully next time my Spanish will be more than saying I can't speak Spanish :D I would like to say that the casino is quite varied and I was really happy to see actual card tables and not those boring ePOS machines. The dealers are charismatic and entertaining.

I went to Tijuana for dental work. There are wonderful dentist and facilities in the city. Wonderful places to eat and some crazy night life but I wouldn't come as a tourist. You go to Tijuana for a purpose. Usually for medical or business not for site seeing.

Ensenada is a great place to shop. The long street with many shops is full of interesting "finds." Many people speak English, and in some places you can still make a bargain to reduce prices. I was particularly amazed at the number of inviting-looking restaurants.

If you are looking for a nice getaway, private and not harassed don't go here. There is a gatekeeper at the parking lot reporting to the owner right away and she has cameras at the front entrance. The condo had capacity for 6 people, I registered 3 and at the last minute took an extra 2 folks. Instantly, I was having to pay for those additional people through Zelle. The listing mentioned Air Conditioner, no such thing. My 96 year old father suffered at night without any cool air. The listing agent told me it was booking.com's fault. I called booking.com customer service and they stated it was her fault. Later that day, the property owner changed the listing to read “heating” vs air conditioner. Not having AC during these high heat wave times are not easy to deal with. It would have made sense to be transparent and price accordingly and add extra floor fans. Condition of the property could have been better. The hallway sink was slow at draining. The property owner thought it was odd that this was happening since the property gets verified before a new customer rents. I felt it was odder that there wasn’t any toilet paper for one of the bathrooms, plus the toilet paper holder was completely broken. Obviously, the unit was not thoroughly checked.

Mexicali is a cute dessert town that keeps on growing despite its very hot and dry weather. Originally the lands that saw the crossing of the Cucapah, Cochimi, Kumeyaay, Pai Pai, Kiliwas and others accross the Californias without border. Mexicali has thrived culturally and its people are warm, kind and generous. Despite road infrastructure can be a challenge, it is an active place, unique cuisine that has integrated Chinese gastronomy. Their imput due to migrating waves from the 1800s has made a mark on the landscape of Mexicali. Healthy food and lifestyle continue to elevate Mexicali 'a must' destination holiday. Its Majestic Rumorosa with capricious rock formations makes this place memorable. All around there is something for you, whether you are vegetarian or carnivorous, carne asada is just delicious and la ruta del vino, only 1.20 min away offers a unique experience. You may need a week to experience this place. This place is peaceful but vibrant, safe, friendly and affordable.

The location was nice. It's more of a Glamping Experience. The area felt secure. A few things that were lacking in our room. The TV didn't work. Smoke didn't work/battery was disconnected. San Felipe is a very typical stop on the way to Baja Sur if traveling on Highway 5 (usually crossing in Mexicali.) The problem with San Felipe is that lodging tends to be very pricy. In the future (I've made this trip twice - I live in Loreto) I will probably cross and stay in Mexicali, then drive to Guerrero Negro the following day, skipping San Felipe. On the other hand, San Felipe is a nice little town and very accessible from southeast California and Arizona. So, if you're camping, it can be a very good and convenient option for a long weekend in Mexico without the issues attending border towns.
