I had to ask for directions, and eventually, everything was explained to me. There was a miscommunication in booking; the room I was assigned was not the one I had reserved. After discussing with the manager, I was transferred to a suite. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there was only one restaurant open at a time. Although I was informed there were four, only one was operational. Consequently, we were stuck with buffet meals for three days, with one day offering a different experience where someone took our orders. Nevertheless, all the staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the drinks were excellent. The property was very clean. The food and drinks at the beach bar were also great, with another set of excellent staff. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. However, I wished there were multiple restaurant options, especially since I booked the all-inclusive package with that expectation.Guest review byMabintyCanada

Villa has a history to it and was designed by the original owner that recently passed away. It's a treat to spend days around the pool and using the facilities. Occasionally, iguana comes for a swim as well. You can borrow kayaks and head for the ocean. The water is very calm on this side of the bay. Communication with staff via email was great. 50 minutes walk to Bucerias .25 minutes the other way to marina and few restaurants and basic small grocery store.Guest review byjanaCanada

It is a nice small town with nice people.
It is a nice small town with nice people. The food is good, especially the seafood. There is not much to do but the tour to the Islas Marrietas and the Playa Escondida is a must, a very beautiful and unique experience.Guest review byTT TwisterUnited States - 10.0

Loved the views and the amenities. The beach was beautiful and clean. Perfect for small children and all ages. The villa came with everything you could want. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The chef was exceptional. She even went grocery shopping for us. This made travelling in a group of 10 much easier. Getting around Crux de Huanacaxtle is not easy from Real del Mar. But the beach was so beautiful, we did not want to be anywhere else, except for the villa, which was so comfortable.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 8.0
The town itself has two options for dining.
The town itself has two options for dining. Overpriced food for the people in the compound as we called it (where all the very expensive hotels are, you are not allowed in unless you are staying there) or street food. The street food was amazing and highly recommended. Unless you are there to surf I would not go to this town. We drove to La Lancha surf break every day. It was perfect for us. the check in was terrible not after I reserved thru booking.com I was charge almost $3000.00 US dollars til they realized the hotel made a mistake I was refund back my money . the supplely the manager aka concierge service was terrible because for every question they did not have an answer the 24 hr room service no such thing because my 7am coffee tea I request only once it was delivered but that was after the fact that a roach was in our order of toast the VIP service no such thing at this resort because at every corner someone is trying to sell you a timeshare for you to keep coming to the resort who wants to that go to the same place every year very aggressive sale personal I have more but live and learn also this is not my first all inclusive resort Ive stayed at but this is my first dissatisfaction resort I've stayed at Eva 323-616-7216Guest review byeva - 8.0
I liked that it was a small, quiet town.
I liked that it was a small, quiet town. We saw lots of older folks at the restaurants and it looked like they were enjoying themselves. I did not find a bank or money exchange. Wish La Cruz had these. No big supermarket either unfortunately. Was easy for us to get an Uber and did take the bus a couple times. Not sure how often buses run. The mini van transportation to Bucerias seemed plentiful. My family did not find the Sunday Market worthwhile.Guest review byLisaCanada
