Zitacuaro is a good base for visiting to the area’s Monarch Butterfly reserves and I wouldn’t recommend it for any other reason. Despite being quite a bustling place, the town itself has little to offer tourists. No special points of interest, poor selection of restaurants and all close early.Guest review byJohnCanada - 10.0
La Cienega is pretty remote.
La Cienega is pretty remote. I took the bus to Zitacuaro from Morelia and then a taxi to my hotel. Transportation once in La Cienega can be tricky. Either drive or hire private transporation unless you are ok with taking public transit which has no set schedule. Make sure you take enough cash, they do not take cards and there are no ATM's unless you go to Ocampo.Guest review byBecky
