It's a dead city.
It's a dead city. Not much places of attraction, if there were places, that places not being maintained at all. Smally city with nothing. Except a lot of eating places. Capati everywhere. What about everywhere capati in Kangar? Bitong is overrated. I feel sorry for the city. Maybe the reason why people like border Thai more than this city. So pity.Guest review byAzizahMalaysia - 10.0

Perlis is so underrated, it is clean and roads are well maintained, way too nice compared to other West Malaysian state. I would love to come back again to Perlis. Bought Harum Manis mangoes, but I felt it is just an overrated Mango for the price. But views in Perlis would bring me back here again.Guest review byZulkifli Bin AliMalaysia - 10.0
Frankly speaking, Arau is one of my hometown.
Frankly speaking, Arau is one of my hometown. Where I grew up here. A lot things have changing and better from previous time. The facilities is much better. The traffic is smooth. By the time 9.00 PM is already quite and peaceful. The infrastructure is upgraded, you can travel to few areas such as Kangar, Kuala Perlis, Pauh, Jejawi, Padang Besar, Beseri, Santan and a lots more even to Kedah which is another state. The food is delicious and quite cheap compared to other states. What else should I say, come to Perlis lah ... enjoyed it by yourself.Guest review byZul IkramudinMalaysia - 10.0

My family and I recently stayed at Villa President Homestay in Kangar, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The homestay was immaculately clean and spacious, and the location was perfect for exploring the city, being close to both Kuala Perlis and Arau. The host, Pn Zeti, was incredibly helpful and responsive, making us feel right at home. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Perlis!Guest review bySaidatul AkmalMalaysia - 10.0

Kangar is a small town with great view of Paddy along of the way to the town. its easy to eye and comforting. Easy to go anywhere if you were driving. there is no heavy traffic. a good place for budget vacay and short.Guest review byMohd Nur HadiMalaysia - 10.0
The cleanest state in Malaysia thus far.
The cleanest state in Malaysia thus far. Every house and every commercial entity has a green bin. Hardly see litter strewn about. A very green state with lots of nature to go to. Enjoy the long drives into hills. But do check ahead when visiting places of interests as they may be closed. We had the thrill of just driving up to the Thai borders. The Wang Kelian View Point is a MUST - by far the best view. Good choice of food at the jetty for ferry to Langkawi. If you're in Langkawi, the ferry ride is just a few minutes.Guest review byRachpal KaurSingapore - 10.0

Arau, Perlis is a quiet and laid-back town, ideal for a short escape. While we didn’t interact much with the locals, we appreciated the peaceful surroundings and the variety of local food options available from traditional Malay dishes to simple street snacks. The weather can get extremely hot, especially during the day, so be prepared with sun protection and plenty of water.Guest review byNoor AzreenMalaysia - 8.0

Kangar is a good place to visit and its proximity to the Thailand border makes it an ideal stop over. It is also one of the gateways to Langkawi. The Harum Manis mangoes is a must try for visitors and there is no lack of great food place for those seeking to experience good food.Guest review byAdi RezaMalaysia - 8.0

Kuala Perlis: A Vibrant Coastal Getaway with Room for Improvement Kuala Perlis stands out as a lively and happening destination, offering more attractions and activities compared to Kuala Kedah. It’s an excellent spot for short holidays, especially for those who enjoy sightseeing, beaches, angling, and indulging in fresh seafood. The town is renowned for its fishing heritage, with numerous restaurants serving delicious seafood dishes like ikan bakar and laksa at affordable prices. Nature lovers will appreciate the scenic views of mangroves, the iconic Masjid Al-Hussain (the “Floating Mosque”), and nearby attractions such as Perlis State Park. The area also serves as a gateway to Langkawi and Thailand, making it a strategic stop for travelers. However, the accommodation options could be improved. While there are basic hotels available, upgrading the quality of lodging would enhance the overall experience for visitors. Despite this, Kuala Perlis remains a charming destination with plenty to offer for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.Guest review byAzhar EasaMalaysia - 10.0

I am trying to do a lot of hiking in the northern states of Malaysia. So we did 3 hikes in 3 days in Perlis as well as in Kedah. And Arau is the border town between these two states. We rented a car to take us to the different places in Perlis and Kedah so it was really easy to get around these places with the help of Waze. There are a few recommended and viral eating places and we got to sample some of this in the short time that we were there. I love the time I spent there as it did not coincide with any public or school holidays when the place will be jam packed with tourists.Guest review bySabwitchMalaysia
