The place is always kept very clean and has everything you need for a hostel stay - comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, nice area to relax and watch the sunset, powerpoints next to beds, etc. Highly recommend this place to stay and meet other travellers.

SpainOne of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in - the facilities are great, located right in the beachfront and near the city center, and the rooms are well-maintained. However, the best part of the hostel is definitely the vibe - amazing people and wonderful staff, special remarks to James who is definitely the best hostel manager I’ve found in any hostel I’ve been. Would definitely recommend staying at Lehani.

The views is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

The beach is just a few metres away, allowing you to jump into the Indian Ocean whenever you like without the hassles that occur once you are even just a few hundred metres away. It's ideal for children: a shallow entrance and smooth waves. Special thanks to Wanette and Shawn, the managers of the lodge. Everything was expertly managed plus their advice and support in booking activities in the area was invaluable. From snorkelling to see seahorses and hundreds of sea stars, to collecting pansy shells or doing a quad-bike tour into the area or going whale shark viewing. I can highly recommend venturing out. The chalets themselves are not new but well maintained. We bought fresh Portuguese rolls from the locals every morning and also amazing tiger prawns for the braai. They were very friendly and I recommend supporting them. Alternatively there are two restaurant options in walking distance just along the beach. Green Turtle is pricey/upmarket, but don't we all need some spoils during our vacation? Overall we had a great time in Barra!Guest review byErikSouth Africa

Both bedrooms had a large en suite. The house was quiet and tranquil. The staff, particularly Tomas, were so friendly and helpful and there for us if we needed anything. The room was cleaned everyday. Even our cleaner was super helpful, he arranged a local taxi for us. The location was perfect, a few steps to the beach. Praia do Tofo itself is Paradise.
Praia do Tofo itself is Paradise. However, avoid using LAM to travel at all costs. On our trip there one of our bags was simply left in Johanneburg and only reached us 3 days later. On our trip back, our flight was delayed for 18 hours and then cancelled with no indication of when a flight will be available. We had to charter a bus to get to Maputo to ensure we were home for Christmas. In both cases, LAM was extremely unhelpful. No information could be provided. Not even an apology was offered. When visiting Inhambane be sure to visit Guinjata bay for scuba diving and beautiful empty beaches. Tofo is also interesting for day trips to explore the local islands by sail boat which also supports the local population. Great view.. We booked for 3 nights stayed the first and then left. Room smells like sewage at night. Water from taps and in toilet is brown. Safe does not work and could not be fixed. So nowhere to keep our important docs. RE car papers and passports. Wind blowing through the doors at nights. Restaurant is very slow. Only 3 tables wer full and waited almost 1h 25mins for supper. We had a sleepless night. Reception did nothing to help. No manager on duty. Sent a email to the property with no answer. We drove 6 hours back to Bilene and booked for the remainder two nights. Is a very nice small town, unfortunately, as many others in Mozambique, poorly maintained. A hurricane, a few years ago, created lots of damage, and some of it was not repaired.
