Wow, what a stunningly beautiful stay! Upon arrival, our host Henry was there to welcome us. We immediately received an upgrade: a family room instead of a budget room. The room had everything you could possibly need — not to mention, you're right in the middle of the desert. The view was magical!
The location is ideal: close to Windhoek, near Sossusvlei, and perfect as a stopover on the way south. Henry was an excellent chef — the food was delicious. We shared breakfast and dinner with Henry, and the conversations were truly fascinating. He did everything he could to make us feel at home. If you had any questions, you could always ask him.
This was our best stay in Namibia!
Thank you, Henry!!

We stopped at Capricorn Restcamp for one night on our way to the Naukluft Park Olive trail and Sossusvlei. We really enjoyed the delicious and plentiful dinner and breakfast and great conversation with Karsten, our host; as well as the beautiful sunset from our very comfortable bungalow.

The most amazing thing about this lodge is the location. The tented rooms are built on the crest of a dune, with a beautiful view over the desert and with enough privacy from the next tent. You have to drive a couple of kilometers on a sandy track to reach the room but it is totally doable even with a normal car. The bathroom is separated from the tent by a wooden bridge and very basic but that is part of the experience, it is a desert camp, after all! The temperature really dropped in the night but the lodge provided thick blankets so it was not cold to sleep. The staff were lovely, the food was good (you have to drive back to the reception for dinner and breakfast, or it is also possible to walk, if you fancy it). We only stayed one night and arrived quite late in the afternoon, so didn't have time to enjoy the pool or to try any of the activities that they offer.

After a long days drive we needed a peaceful, relaxing, good food, nice shower and friendly welcome. That’s exactly what we experienced plus the amazing sunset and sunrise the next day makes our stay so. I have more memorable. Thanks Henry
