- From US$152.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 586 reviewsSolitaire is a space with a very unique energy. We loved stepping into a film and having the feeling of going back in time. Our room was excellent, the bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. The dining room was very welcoming, the food is prepared with great care and the portions are generous! Breakfast is buffet and very tasty too. The staff is wonderful, this was our first night after arriving in Namibia and feeling at home in such a remote place is priceless. They were always smiling and asking if everything was ok and seemed genuinely concerned about our well-being. A special thank you to Smiley, a promising young boy, with a wide smile capable of enchanting us with his way of talking. Thank you all ❤️ Oh and please try the apple pie from the bakery next door, it is as famous as it is delicious! :)Guest review byMario and CatiaPortugal
- From US$373.60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 287 reviewsEverything!! I will recommend and come back definitely. The room with a view to the waterhole is a dream come true. All the room is a dream, the bed is really comfortable and the bathroom is beautiful. The staff is amazing, the chef is an incredible human being and the food was absolutely delicious and well served. The common facilities such as the pool and the dinner and breakfast spaces are charming and beautiful, well maintained and really clean. For horse riding at sunset was unforgettable and we could see oryx very close to us. I will never forget this amazing lodge.Guest review byMartaPortugal
- From US$444.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,303 reviewsAn absolutely stunning location! Right next to the park gates to visit Sossusvlei and the other dunes. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Great shower. Lovely pool which I had to myself for about an hour! The view from outside the bar/restaurant looking towards the waterhole was amazing- watching oryx, springbok, jackal, ostrich etc with a glass of wine in hand! Wonderful, varied buffet breakfast and dinner.. So much choice! And we are vegetarian but still plenty for us. Easy check in and out. I would have liked to stay longer.Guest review byharrietUnited Kingdom

The photos don’t do it justice. Everyone was so welcoming and the location was great to drive from Windhoek and close enough to get up early and head to Sousselvlei for a sunrise walk. Amazing stars at night and a lovely 4 course meal for supper. Thank you for our lovely stay.Guest review byEmilyUnited Kingdom

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 10.0
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.Guest review byOnnichaThailand - 10.0

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.Guest review byPierSouth Africa - 10.0
