It's such a peaceful place; you can barely hear the motorway, which makes it even more relaxing. This was my second time staying there, and definitely not the last! Although I didn’t try the breakfast, I did have lunch and dinner at the restaurant this time, and everything was excellent. The menu is small, but every dish was delicious, well portioned, and fairly priced. The room was also great. Some have been recently renovated, which is nice. My only suggestion would be to add a glass door to the shower — without it, the water tends to get all over the bathroom floor, which could be a bit risky, especially for older guests. It has a very cosy restaurant and breakfast room, the staff are very friendly and the location was perfect for us to discover this part of the beautiful Netherlands (20 min to Giethoorn, 25 min to Urk). There are cycling paths starting from the hotel directly for those looking to ride the bike here. It is a new city.
It is a new city. I can not say it is pretty, I don't like this ultra modern architecture. The nature is beautiful, lakes and a lot of green areas. Many shops are opened also Sunday afternoon, this makes city alive. Too less (or none) local shops or special things, unique for Almere. Same chains, same food and other type of products. It was very pretty but the weather for our stay was awful. The location is very good for walking, cycling and sailing. Also a good base for travel. Rutten is located between Lemmer and Urk, very peaceful and only a twenty minute drive to either, or half an hour to Lelystad. Our stay in Almere was made all the more easier because there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, just a few doors down from B&B Haddock where we stayed there was great all you can eat tapas menu available in ‘El Mundo’s’ we loved it so much we ate there on the two nights we stayed in Almere, it was excellent.Guest review byKevinNetherlands - 4.0

15-20 min. Waiting to check in because the restaurant line is priority. They only change the towels not make the bed nor replace shampoo and soap. The room is tiny for 2 people. The worst: THE BLACKOUT doesn't work. It's wrongly instaled or what? 6 am it's like a sunny day in the room. 45 EUR it's a very very well payed. NEVER MORE THAN THIS.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

They said they had sent a mail informing us of the deposit of 100 Euros . We had neither received that nor the information that Anno runs a Disco till 4 in the morning. As two older,very well-educated people, we were very upset about the disturbance. The area around the hotel is prohibited to dogs, we were travelling with two dogs, requested their stay at the hotel but had no information as to the unwelcome state of the dogs in that part of the town.(surrounding the hotel) The staff were extremely unfriendly and quite rude. When asked to call a taxi for our departure,they demurred strongly but did eventually comply with our request. The breakfast was more or less non- existent, consisting of dry bread, tubs of yoghurt, and tea which had to be ordered at the bar, a request that was very slowly complied with, in very bad grace.
