- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 350 reviewsThe host is really nice and open. He was helpful and shared some tips for trips nearby and told us a little bit about the city. The location of the apartment is exceptional in the heart of the city, very close to shops and bus station. Apartment was clean and well equipped, the kitchen was big and with all necessary equipment. The apartments were well heated so there is no need to worry about the temperatures. We enjoyed the stay and for sure we are coming back!Guest review byAgnieszkaPoland

The building exterior is gorgeous and matched by the lobby and rooms. Be sure to make a reservation at the restaurant in advance! We ate in the cafe and still had a lovely dinner, then stopped by the on-site bar for delicious cocktails. Overall it was an excellent location, clean and modern rooms, and all the amenities needed.Guest review byCarolUnited States

The common areas (bathrooms and kitchen) were exceptionally clean and well-equipped. The highlight was the hosts – an extremely friendly and jovial couple. Highly recommend.Guest review byJose LuisSpain

Free coffee and you can use the kitchen to prepare your own meals. I guess this place is used a lot by people who travel for work, for example at the shipyards?Guest review bymartijnNetherlands

Wonderful little pearl of a city in Norway's west coast.
Wonderful little pearl of a city in Norway's west coast. The venice of Norway! Plenty of great good, both street and good restaurants and good beer. Plenty of things to do; hiking, museums, aquarium, etc.Guest review byDaniNorway - 2.0

My rating reflects BOOKING.com which is the worst agent can be. I did not show up due to personal reasons however BOOKING deduct the full payment violating what was agreed on. I contacted them 10 times but in vain. They use stupid auto-replies messages and AI assistants! LinaGuest review byLinaSweden - 10.0
What I liked about Ålesund is that it is a real city (...
What I liked about Ålesund is that it is a real city (population 59,000) with its own culture and not just a tourist trap consisting of hotels, cafés, and souvenir shops that exist soley for the sake of the cruise ships. Therefore there are several top restaurants in town (which are not cheap, however!) Very popular with the locals as well as out of town visitors. (Restaurants: Bro, Apotekergata No.5, & XL Diner) The historical district is extra-beautiful because of the famous 1904 fire and art nouveau reconstruction which adds special flavor to it unmatched elsewhere. Makes for some cute museums as well. The Aksla viewpoint is a manageable hike and well worth it (418 + steps)! Plenty to do for 2-3 days but a great place also to relax and hang out longer if you are in to boating, walking beautiful streets, side-walk cafés, local culture, etc. Easy access to Geiranger fjord and Troll's Road too!Guest review byRodneyUnited States - 10.0
There's so much to see and do in this part of Norway.
There's so much to see and do in this part of Norway. I spent a lot of time hiking on the islands around the town, and travelling on the excellent local buses, but the town itself is fascinating and has a colourful history which is well described in the central museum. It's a very friendly and trusting place and the population seem to be well integrated. And the bonus is that Norway is no longer as expensive as it used to be.Guest review byAnonymous
