- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 695 reviewsA large building, already having its years, but it has many advantages. Very nice lobby, extremely helpful staff, restaurant with delicious food, huge selection of feed from the buffet. Very nice, modern rooms, comfortable bed, well-equipped gym. The hotel is located in a beautiful village, next to it there is a cable car that can take you 1100 m up and offers an extraordinary view of the fjords. Important, tickets for entry can be purchased at the hotel reception. The building is already quite old, but the comfort in the interior compensates for the resort character of the hotel. From the outside it can not stall, but everything is great from the inside.Guest review byEwaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 242 reviewsOur experience at the Fjærland Fjordstove Hotel was lovely. The quiet village, beautifully restored and maintained hotel, wonderful staff, exceptional dining and the views to knock your socks off! It was our 20th anniversary and it was a magical time. In reading other reviews there is the mention of the high cost of the accommodation and food and we agree but the cost was easily understandable as the Fjaerland reaches for the highest quality for its guests. So, it is our recommendation to get past the cost and you will not be disappointed:)Guest review byPaulUnited States

- From £198.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 564 reviewsWe stayed in a self-catering cottage next to the hotel . The cottage was well equipped, clean, and there was lots of space. We have a 3 week trip, and sometimes you want to eat your own choice of food. There was a supermarket nearby what was really nice.Guest review byJan Hendrik MostertSouth Africa

My adult daughters and I were visiting Norway and planned to drive from Bergen to Alesund. We chose the Loen because it was about half way between each city. We spent two nights at the Loen. The beds were comfortable. Food was very good considering my kids are vegetarian. Desert table was amazing. Spa area was lovely, relaxing and we spent a few hours just lounging in the waters - showere, sauna, steam, cold plunge, whirlpool etc. Pools were also fun. We also went hiking in the area. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 10.0

Olden is a beautiful little town next to Loen with drives and outdoor acitivities galore. We stayed 2 days and could have stayed at least 2 more. We did the Skylift, ate at Hoven, drove to the Briksdal glaciar and the Kjenndalsbreen Glacier. Loved it!Guest review byBrasel - 10.0

Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over the mountains. Will definitely go back. Lovely thoughtful details, chairs and a rug by the waterside, a rowing boat to borrow, a sauna for after your swim in the glacialmelt water. Interesting hamlet with lots of buildings being restored.Guest review byPamela DunbarNorway - 10.0
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous.
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous. Not a whole lot to do except short hikes along the Fjord, or going on organized tours. In general, it is a good idea to check hiking possibilities on online sites before going somewhere in Norway. When the fjords are very steep that there aren't many easily accessible hikes, which we didn't anticipate. But the walk along the Fjord was jaw-dropping and you can go a long way. We tried to rent a bike and the minimum rental period was 3 hrs, and we didn't have that much time.( It is a small place so an hour's rental would have sufficed. ) The glacier museum was nice for 60-90 min.Guest review bySanjeevUnited States - 2.0
We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to...
We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to Geiranger. We booked a room with two queen beds for three people, but it was nothing like the pictures shown on the website. The room was dark, outdated, and extremely small. There wasn’t even enough space to open the luggage for three people. We paid almost $350 for one night, but it wasn’t even up to the standard of a one-star hotel. On the day of arrival, we received an email instructing us to pick up the key from a pizza shop next to the hotel instead of the reception, and we never saw anyone at the reception during our stay. The next day, we called the hotel several times to check out, but no one answered, and we never received a call back. I would absolutely not recommend this place.Guest review byHelenUnited States - 10.0
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed...
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed glacial valleys all topped by Europe's largest Ice Field, this place is as picturesque and likable as anywhere on Earth. The Glacier Museum in Fjaerland sports a riveting breathtaking 20 minute flyover surround video of the Jostedalsbreen Ice Field. With all this, it's also quiet and peaceful - not overrun by tourist buses at allGuest review byLeif - 8.0

Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented.
Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented. One must be aware it is not a modern building and therefore do not expect modern luxury but it is a true experience. Location and views are amazing. Price is too high though all considering.Guest review byMarkNetherlands
