This is a beautiful little hotel which was once a mill. It's located minutes from the station and the town centre with a little stream running along the outside areas. Egon restaurant was adjacent... very tasty food - and the Toppen Bar on 9th floor has a magnificent view. Bed was soooo cosy and comfortable and toiletries provided were of good quality. Very reasonably priced and staff were wonderful, each and every one!

This hotel is in the centre of the town and easy to find. It has a car park immediately opposite the hotel, which you pay for inside. We loved the extra touches such as the free afternoon tea with cake, the evening buffet dinner and the delicious breakfast. Our room was a twin room of good size and very clean. We received excellent service from the staff throughout.

We were greeted very well on arrival. Lovely hotel, our room had a good view.it was no trouble to get an extra duvet on the first night.During our stay we were given so much helpful advice by a receptionist called Ayshat. She went above & beyond to assist us,and was so friendly and approachable. Breakfast was amazing, such fantastic choice and really excellent quality. We had a hot chocolate in the cosy and warm lounge area at the back of reception after a day of skiing.we enjoyed dining in the restaurant attached to the hotel, the menu was good,so convenient and the staff friendly.A good experience..

A place we’ll continue to visit after getting married in the Domkirkeodden (cathedral ruins) 10 years ago. It’s peaceful but with plenty to see and do and only 1hr 45 from Oslo. Lake mjøsa is stunning and if you follow the lake trail you’ll find lots to photograph, enjoy the scenery and culture as well (don’t miss the famous Skiblandener which runs during the summer months) There is beaches safe for swimming and lots of great places to eat out. Getting about by foot is easy although some stepper sections but the bus is well connected and easy to use.

A lovely little town on the shores of Norway's largest lake, Lake Mjøsa. Gjøvik town centre is pleasant with plenty of restaurants - I recommend the Fauno pizza place - and car parking. It's 40 km south of Lillehammer and 170 km north of Oslo and is an ideal stopover on the long drive south to Oslo or Torp airports. Gjøvik has excellent road and rail connections.

The absolute best place to cross country ski - you can never get tired of it or explore all the trails. Norway is currently a very good value destination for British travellers as the exchange rate is favourable and accommodation is generally not over priced - unlike some parts of the UK!! Sjusjoen is highly accessible via Oslo/Lillehammer, with or without a car.

Lillehammer in winter is enchanting - snow covered, charming shops, lots of people around. Walking the town is very interesting - great views of the river valley, interesting architecture. If you like to cross country ski, this is the Mecca! hundreds of kilometers of ski trails nearby, groomed everyday. I was focused on skiing, then an afternoon walk. There are a couple worthy museums. The Olympic Park is a worthwhile climb above town. Otherwise not much entertainment or other sights.

An awesome place to walk into snowy nature.

An awesome place to walk into snowy nature. I wanted snow in the week before Christmas. I was afraid the town would only be suited for ski enthousiast. That was not the case. I made some nice walks into snowy nature in the forest and countryside in and around town. It wasn’t very crowded. I came to Lillehammer for some old-fashioned Christmas atmosphere. That’s exactly what it provided. A snowy cute town with lights and music everywhere. The town is dead though after 6 PM. All shops are closed, only restaurants are opened.
