As a world traveller I have stayed in many places. This one I walked in at instantly felt at home and very happy. Not only was everything spic and span physically but also energetically. There was no sense of many people having been there. The space was clean and clear and spacious just for us. I will always remember this feeling.
The decor was bright and light without creating any "imprints" on the mind.
Even the soap was not your every day soap but of high standard.
The sun shining in over the mountains in the morning created a sense of 'all is well'. There are excellent curtains should you prefer the dark.
We stayed here on the way to the south island to be close to the ferry.
There is the hum of the motorway way off in the background which did not bother us at all, and I am highly sensitive.
The quality of this place, its energy and its setting in the rolling hills
I cannot recommend this place high enough, and myself would always come back here when in the area.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
The resort itself was beautiful. Andrew was absolutely lovely on arrival and throughout our stay. Wished we could have stayed longer longer. The apartments are very clean and tidy and spacious with everything you need. After being on the road for the last 5 weeks and eating out, it was nice to be able to sit down and have a home cooked meal with a full kitchenette. Next time we will definitely be back for longer
cozy and calm, the small airport nearby is absolutely not disturbing (there was no problem during sleeping times). I would choose this accommodation again, strong recommendation. Did not test the pool, but seems well maintained as well.
Nearly fully stocked kitchen for us to cook. Now of the main road so nice and quite. Staff we very friendly. With the new SH 1 very close to Wellington

All in all it was a very good experience staying and I would stay there again. The unit was nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming.
The local Indian restaurant is the best Indian food I have ever had and the service was exceptional not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. We tried to get into the Thai but it was fully booked. We went to another restaurant down by the beach which was upstairs but it was so noisy that it was to hard to hear.
We were down for a funeral and had a car so very easy to get around the area.

They do have a lot of Beaches and Reserves close by, and when I stayed at the White House up the hill, I had an epic view with the best Sunset.

For a low key activity go to Nga Manu. Relaxing and informative! Watch the eels being fed and attempt to see a nesting kiwi. We did, but not much action to see. If you like nature, just go.

Paekakariki is a town located between Wellington and Paraparaumu and is easy to get to. There are cafes in Paekakariki but I self catered for my stay. The beach there is great for walking along and so is Queen Elizabeth park, the entrance not far from the accommodation. I found Paekakariki a really nice place to relax in.

Nice place to eat.
Nice place to eat. Not much else unless you want to learn at Maori schools.
As a community, people are respectful - even the young have learnt to respect elder visitors.
Unfortunately, no Eccles cakes towards the end of the week.

Otaki Beach is lovely - great walking and for those with kiteboards, plenty of wind and good waves. Otaki township is only a few minutes away and it has everything you need - but there is a dairy at Otaki Beach for any urgent items.

If your after a restful stay this place is perfect. Looking out over rolling paddocks and the sun rising was a lovely way to start the day. Beautiful beach with spectacular sunset. Short drive to Otaki township and main highway as well.

A beautiful, relaxing setting where you can either sit back with a good book or explore the walks in the area. Remember to pack a hat even in winter. Very comfortable beds. There is a BBQ and 2 place gas burner. There is a smallish oven which is part of the wood burner so plan your meals. Will definitely be going back. Owners very responsive

House was great. Good view of the sea. Spacious.
House was great. Good view of the sea. Spacious. Warm and well equiped. Wifi didn't operate initially, but sorted that out by turning the Wifi off and on. Really good house to hire. Bachcare let us down completely and it took an age to find we had been given an incorrect password to the lock box. The owners do well. Bachcare not so much. Could have had a few coffee machine capsules just to start us off. An electric blanket would have been welcome.

Unfortunately we were there for a family funeral. So did not visit the beach.
However we did enjoy Two Fat Chefs for breakfast the next morning.
We were able to dine out the back as we had our small dog with us.
