- From £76.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 1,034 reviewsClose to the city centre. Clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. Our room was lovely and warm. Beds were comfy. Kids loved the hot outdoor pool although the private spa pools weren’t that warm compared to the swimming pool otherwise we will definitely be back to stay again in the near future.Guest review byJhonelleNew Zealand

Only there for a short time - only chose Taupo as it was central to all those attending the reunion. Great selection of cafe's to meet & dine in, with free parking. Enjoyed dining out at Incredible India. Nice relaxing stroll around the lake and browsing at the markets.Guest review bySharonNew Zealand - 10.0

Turangi is a beautiful, scenic location and the people are very welcoming and friendly. We were impressed by the service and choices at the Hydro Cafe, the Flytackle shop and the NZ Post shop. We also enjoyed the Pihanga Gallery showcasing local art and crafts and a delicious Italian meal at Valentinos. It was beautiful in late autumn and we'll visit again.Guest review byOdetteNew Zealand - 10.0

Kurutau is a beautiful very peaceful with amazing local and friendly people. We went on the river run fantastic and then a swim in the Lake. The weather is fresh, crisp nice and chill in the evening. My daughter's bach was right on top of Omori breathtaking view of the Lake and we could walk down for a swim. I would highly recommend Kurutau to families, friends and to anyone doing a road trip around New Zealand.Guest review byNgatuehauNew Zealand - 8.0

The location is lovely, the clean room very tastefully done with an excellent bathroom. Self serve breakfast is provided in the room so no need to pack up and then drive to get food. The check out time of 11am allows for a relaxing morning especially after a long drive like we had. Kinloch is nearby on the lakeside with a general store. Worth a walk and a swim. The quiet side of Lake Taupo.Guest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Would stay at this place again but they need to give better instructions to get in the gate as the code doesn’t work. Don’t tell you that! Also doesn’t tell you no visitors allowed on the site but says that on the info sheet inside. Like you go to see family but they can’t stop in for a cuppa - bit rough!Guest review byJoNew Zealand - 8.0

You've GOT to get out on the water one way or another and the big thing to see is the rock carvings. The waterfront is beautiful to stroll along, especially if you enjoy street art, and Taupo boasts the world's coolest MacDonald's. A variety of shops are set out in the easy to navigate grid and close together with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants - I went to Robert Harris twice as it was so good. Huka Falls is worth seeing (keep walking north from it to hot water beach) and there's a container if you walk back on the south side towards the park from there selling awesome wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I left Turangi and just came back after 17 years. There's a lot of improvement and a lot busier. I love Turangi and the sorrounding area. I was just dissapointed when I found out that the public toilet is not working.Guest review byGoodieNew Zealand - 8.0

Kuratau's mood changes with the seasons and might be quite vibrantly different in Summer, with many barbecues & outdoor entertaining areas evidently poised ready for finer weather. We ran-away for a quiet, cosy weekend in September and loved it. Cafes and shops are all a drive away in Turangi so we were delighted to find the conviviality of the local winery, where we purchased a nice Rose and enjoyed coffee and pizzas. Next time we'll bring a few more supplies with us, stay a while longer and perhaps mingle more.Guest review byGas101New Zealand - 6.0

The beach is nice but it is always super crowded like the Riveria or something. Very limited facilities in Kinloch with just one general store and a cafe both of which are always busy because of the beach crowds. If staying in Kinloch you need to bring food with you.Guest review byRickNew Zealand - 10.0

An awesome vibe, felt very relaxed and enjoyed the leisurely walk along the lake front. Cobb & Co had brilliant service and the food was exceptional, in fact it was so nice we had tea there two nights in a row. The Millennium Resort was a great place to stay and the lake view from our bedroom highlighted our stay. The ‘Grotto’ is definitely worth the experience if you stay at The Millennium.
