We were upgraded to one of the deluxe outside units where we could park right outside. Rooms did have a funny smell but could have been the sulfur in the air. Room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfy. Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.Guest review byRajanSri Lanka

Auckland city isn't the nicest or safest of cities to move around in but my stay there was ok. Going mid week meant a lot of local eatery places shut at 10.00pm so after our show was difficult to go and get a meal or some tasty food. Is it easy to get around? Not really as we had to park our car off site as the Grand Chancellor has no parking and the roads are busy in the city which makes moving around quite stressful.Guest review byToms - 10.0

Love the breeze and fresh air windy at times but I love the cold weather Recommend the August eat for breakfast and brunch, very nice food is great, a lot of wood quality restaurants and bars nearby. There is a tepapa museum, market on the Sunday very cheap to get your veges and fruits and a lot of food stalls to enjoy.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Don't worry about going out of town to thermal sites when you can walk around the lakeside and park and see geothermal action for free. There's also a wealth of street art around town mixed in with a great range of shops and cafes. The iSITE staff were very helpful with planning trips and activities and talked me through using local buses: they also called a taxi for me at one point. DEFINITELY do go to Mitai Maori Village's cultural evening. You might think it sounds expensive. I promise you it's totally worth it. This experience was one of the highlights of my 3 week tour of NZ and one of the first things I tell people about.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Only there for a short time - only chose Taupo as it was central to all those attending the reunion. Great selection of cafe's to meet & dine in, with free parking. Enjoyed dining out at Incredible India. Nice relaxing stroll around the lake and browsing at the markets.Guest review bySharonNew Zealand - 10.0

We were in PN because of treatment at the hospital for recently diagnosed cancer. On discharge from the hospital we choose to go to the cafe Thyme and Fig. We spotted a car park right outside the cafe. Perfect as my wife had a catheter in tow and was wearing her pyjama bottoms. When we had hydrated we decided to head home to Greytown. You guessed it- we got a parking fine. I'm afraid that soured our stay in PN. We were frassled and never thought about a parking infringement. There are no parking meters in Greytown so it certainly wasn't on our radar. I'm astounded that the fine is $70. That is steep for pensioners.Guest review bySueNew Zealand - 10.0

Traffic lights at the roundabouts that’s something we don’t see everyday. Chilled town and friendly people , I’m guessing it’s alot busier over summer . Fernland spas , relaxing , affordable, refreshing spas. Make that a must do while you are in town.Guest review byAnonymousNew Zealand - 10.0
New Plymouth is pumping with life.
New Plymouth is pumping with life. All the cafes and restaurants are busy, Lots of young people around making it feel vibrant and alive. its a great town with lots to do. A walk around Pukekura Park and the Bowl of Brooklands is an absolute must. The cafe in the park has the most amazing scones!! Recomment Rice Rice Baby Vietnamese restaurant. Lots of good places to eat.Guest review bysusanNew Zealand - 10.0
It was a great experience.
It was a great experience. Mountain was warmer up the to & colder at the bottom. It's wise to go up the gondola ride see the mountain close up front. There is snow field up the top for seating & restaurant. National park is just mesmerising very iconic. Worth visiting. I would go again next time for the crossing.Guest review byShamshad BegumNew Zealand
