- From £100.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 357 reviewsThe accommodation was amazing! It was so unexpected to get instead of the "room" on booking nice spacious cottage. There were not only full-equipped kitchen, bathroom and two bedroom but also a great living room with so cool and comfortable reclining chairs (exactly like in "Friends" series) and sofa and TV and table football. We were really sad that we have only one night to stay there :( Nice souvenir shop across the road, some sheep and a cat on the backyard are the bonuses. And great thanks from our cat for allowing to stay with him (he loved the chairs too)Guest review byDariaMalaysia
- From £35.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 2,283 reviewsWe really enjoyed our stay here! We grabbed our kitchen packet on arrival and it had everything we need to cook in the communal kitchen during the week. The beds were comfortable and the room was super cute and cozy. The showers in the shared bathrooms were awesome - great water pressure and warm temperature. The holiday park was conveniently located for everything we wanted to do.Guest review byHannahUnited States

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools.
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.Guest review byHeatherAustralia - 8.0

My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our stay in Twizel.Guest review byUdenNew Zealand - 8.0
The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for.
The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for. There are a couple of nice shops - not much else there although you could visit the nearby hamlets which looked to have some interesting features. We tried to walk along the river but the path was quite overgrown.Guest review bySuzyAustralia - 8.0
Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo.
Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo. Has been refurbished and had everything we needed. Shower was great & beds were very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet despite being near main road. Host was friendly & welcoming. Maybe a little small for more than 2 or 3 people or for more than a couple of nights. Travellers need to bring all food etc as no shops in settlement.Guest review byMarcellaNew Zealand - 10.0
My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough.
My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough. The villas are exceptionally appointed and spacious. The environment is picturesque, tranquil and peaceful. The food provided in the villas and the meals cooked by the chef are truly delicious and guests individual tastes are catered for. The staff are very welcoming and friendly whilst ensuring that privacy is a key component of the experience. The villas could not be cleaner or more tastefully presented. We doubt anyone could be disappointed in their stay at this retreat.Guest review bytonyNew Zealand - 10.0

Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for my holidays and invite friends and family to join. In time, I believe it will be comparable to Wanaka, Queenstown but with more relaxing atmosphere. Hope to see more eateries / restaurants / fine dining in due course.Guest review byCheeNew Zealand - 10.0
Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery.
Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery. The town itself is very small, but offers so much with scenic walks, activities & the locals are super friendly. We had dinner at the Razza Bar - a small, old school bar with the best atmosphere & great food. The owner was really friendly and told us all about the lord of the rings filming and where we could find the area where the fight scene was filmed which was very cool. Beautiful place & we can’t wait to come backGuest review byStaceyNew Zealand - 6.0
Loved Fairlie Bakery, pies are to die for.
Loved Fairlie Bakery, pies are to die for. Great fashion shops. Loved the new year's day parade, took us back in time. New coffee shop. Good Beans is exceptional. The best coffee and food. The owners know what they are doing.Guest review byPaulaNew Zealand - 8.0
The location worked out for our travel arrangements.
The location worked out for our travel arrangements. It was different and the owners were hard working and was a good overnight stopover. A restaurant/hotel was located 6 mins up the road and a little general store across road with a bit of history and garden furniture to see.Guest review byDavidNew Zealand - 10.0

It is a perfect pit stop if anyone travelling from Christchuch to Wanaka. We picked our car at Christchurch airport & continued to Lake Tekapo (took around 3 - 3.5 hrs with multiple stops) and stayed here overnight. There are a few reasonable restaurants available close to the hotel in Lake Takepo and most of them close around 8.30 pm. Following next day morning we checked out & visited the famous Shepherd church & lake Tekapo which are next to each other & close to the village shop centre. It is a beautiful location with all the necessary arrangements & perfect pit stop as I said before.Guest review byKoteshwara ReddyAustralia
