New Plymouth is pumping with life.
New Plymouth is pumping with life. All the cafes and restaurants are busy, Lots of young people around making it feel vibrant and alive. its a great town with lots to do. A walk around Pukekura Park and the Bowl of Brooklands is an absolute must. The cafe in the park has the most amazing scones!! Recomment Rice Rice Baby Vietnamese restaurant. Lots of good places to eat.Guest review bysusanNew Zealand - 2.0
It was very poor accommodation.
It was very poor accommodation. Not clean before we got there room was very smelly n musky dirty smell. Lots missing from room. Utensils, TV remote, pots, toaster, iron. We couldn’t book anywhere else all booked out a big festival was on in the area. Emergency housing was in the Lodge they were disgustingly dirty (bogens) Dogs inside their hotel room. Their rooms were disgustingly yuk. Not a good experience I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Very poor. Bad Experience.Guest review byAriaNew Zealand - 10.0

It is a natural beach loved by surfers! Take the kickboard, go directly into the sea, and enjoy the fun of surfing. If you are tired, you can rest on the beach. The sunset is beautiful and not to be missed. But there is no lighting after sunset so be careful walking back to where you parkedGuest review byJulia.LuTaiwan - 6.0

Inglewood is just a typical small NZ town.. nothing remarkable. But it provides fairly close access to Mount Taranaki, with its walks and the Rhododendron festival, and not too far from the Forgotten Highway with its splendid rural hilly scenery. There are a range of places to eat including things like Subway, pizza shops, cafés and full restaurants. The hotel has a full restaurant service but not on Mondays and Tuesdays. The shopping centre is unremarkable but provides for all ordinary needs such as banks, post office, supermarkets and so on. Town very safe.Guest review byCableBayRetireesNew Zealand - 8.0
Super Market and small businesses appreciated.
Super Market and small businesses appreciated. Convenience of travelling North and South of Waitara to Taranaki historical sites suited our family. Close to the sea a bonus. Managed a little fishing. Play Park great for children.Guest review byKingi - 10.0
Typical country town.
Typical country town. There was a great coffee shop, vehicle srervicing and farm supply facilities. We enjoyed our stay there as a staging post for WOMAD in New Plymouth. The view from the Barbwire Bach across the lake is tranquil and very scenic.Guest review byBlackwellNew Zealand - 10.0

A little village right on the coastline. South, West coast of the North Island NZ. Wild beaches, very friendly people, talked to the local fishermen. Great place for families to explore or couples for a little romance.Guest review byGarryAustralia - 10.0

We visited just for one day with my elderly mother in a wheelchair. We took her around Brooklands zoo (free/optional donation) which was great. She also loved Pukekura gardens. The coastal walkway was also perfect for wheelchairs (care needed on railway crossings). Mount Taranaki was absolutely stunning with its snowy peak.Guest review byLizNew Zealand
