Well worth the drive. Not for the faint hearted in places!
Well worth the drive. Not for the faint hearted in places! 4WD required. Police checkpoint at base to check vehicles are roadworthy. It’s a very steep climb & decent. . Off road drives are challenging but the scenery is stunning. Bring snacks/water. Walking shoes. The Historical Al Sukar village is amazing. Challenging drive but worth it. A 500m walk down the trail to the lodges & cafe. And a tough climb back up same so bring water!Guest review byAhmadUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

I felt that this place was like heaven on earth to be honest!! So peaceful, nice weather (it rained a bit which was great!), green trees and bushes, trees that I have never seen before elsewhere, nice people with high morals, even the expatriates I feel took some from the morals of the locals. The houses and roads were all beautiful, well maintained and surrounded with gardens. The products we saw and got in the shops/festival such as olive oil, sidr, rose water/oil and skin products were a bonus. They are all organic and hand-made by the locals which I really loved.Guest review bySamiaOman - 10.0
The area was spectacularly beautiful.
The area was spectacularly beautiful. There are a number of well marked hikes as well as more extensive walks, via ferrata, abseiling and cave exploration that require guides. Guides are amazing professionals from the area. We learned so much about the area and eager to return to learn more.Guest review byAngelaUnited States - 10.0

I regularly go to Jabal Al Akdhar...the only issue is that facilities in the town have not imrpove over the years....I love the rustic feel of the mountain and hence I do not mind these lack of facilities.Guest review byDevaraathOman - 10.0

😊We spent 2 nights here as a family and it was a highlight of our trip! The approach via gravel road is no problem with 4x4 and offers wonderful views into the mountains. Behind the new settlement where the families of the former inhabitants of the historic village live, you can park and then it is about a 15-minute walk to cross the wadi, even with a small suspension bridge. Therefore, the approach should be made before sunset if possible. The traditional welcome was very warm and the guided tour through the village really exciting. The rooms are lovingly and stylishly restored with historical building materials and furnished accordingly. It was even more comfortable than we had expected. The quality of the bed linen, towels and bathrooms was visibly high. Everywhere there are resting places with cushions, balconies and terraces with fantastic views of the wadi and the mountains. There was always someone from the host family on site to look after the guests, which led to many interesting conversations. Water, tea and coffee were always available. Breakfast and dinner were included and we were always asked about our wishes in advance. The result was delicious! There are various tours offered by the host, who is also a mountain guide, which are certainly interesting. However, we opted for a nice hike on site, for which there are also many possibilities. If you are looking for peace and relaxation in wonderful nature and traditional surroundings, this is certainly the right place. We will not forget this unique accommodation and will certainly visit again on another trip! ☹ NothingGuest review byJörgGermany - 6.0

It is a nice & cozy property, budget friendly as other options get into the luxury segment & hence are expensive, the views are excellent, rooms are decent(value for money) and food is tasty just that choices are limited, but there are other (food)options nearby the property that are available. Overall if you don't wanna spend on luxury this is a good option as it provides stunning views with decently comfortable rooms.Guest review byPrashanta KumarIndia
