- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 17 reviewsAll the meals were great and authentic to the area, good variety. The four days were all scheduled from morning to night which we loved. So much to experience from nocturnal jungle hikes and going out in the nocturnal hunt canoe ride. Many boat excursions, swam near pink dolphins, caught several piranha fish, saw many species unique to the area. Birdwatching. Took out the kayak and paddle board during our 2 hour afternoon rest. The remote private bungalows were so comfortable and clean. Loved resting in the hammock on our balcony. Guide Mosises spoke English well , very knowledgeable and grew up in the area. Flew to Iquito, had hotel pick up, a van drove part way before loading the boat to go down the Amazon river to our remote lodge 140 km upstream from Iguito. Very easy all inclusive experience.Guest review byShawn and Brenda McCreaCanada
- From US$184.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 27 reviewsThe location is amazing -- right on the banks of the Amazon river. The lodge is completely screened in so you can experience the sights and sounds of nature (without all the mosquitoes). The family room is perfect for a family with 2-3 kids. Many other places don't have a pool and let me tell you -- the pool is a lifesaver to cool down in the hot afternoons! Our English-speaking guide did a great job personalizing daily adventures each day, from ziplining to visiting wild animals. The food was phenomenal! The chef was able to accommodate our pescatarian diet. Overall, they welcomed us like family and we would recommend the Avatar for a once in a lifetime experience!Guest review byLaurenUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 18 reviewsExcellent communication and organisation (thanks Lizeth), friendly and professional staff. The tour includes pick up and drop off (from the airport or hotel) and transport to the lodge by boat. Great food and accommodation, very clean everywhere, exceptional facilities like pool and showers (which shouldn't be taken for granted in the jungle). Also great guides and tours, saw pink dolphins, monkeys, sloths, tarantulas, and many other animals and plants (e.g. victoria amazonica). Also stayed overnight in the Victoria Regia Hotel in Iquitos upon arrival. Can recommend, as the pickup for the boat is at 9, so there's plenty of time to enjoy the breakfast!Guest review byAndreasItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 41 reviewsMy guide Larry met me at the airport and we travelled to the lodge. Although it was 3 hours time went fast watching the landscape go by. It was dry season for my visit so unfortunately the river way very low and the lodge was not on the river as per photographed on booking. I do wish this was explained. Otherwise i had an amazing 5 days. The accommodation was clean, the food was ok. It was different everyday but simple. My guide Larry was exceptional. His knowledge of the jungle, outstanding, and his English was perfect. We made a plan on arriving for what it would like to do in my time. Highlight was the caiman night tour and lily pads.Guest review byStephanieAustralia
- From US$749.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 87 reviewsAmazing stay! Alfredo, Leo and Carlos were all amazing as well as the rest of the staff! I was sick for 1 of the days there, and Alfredo went over and above to make sure I was okay! I can't say enough good things about the food. The rooms were lovely, and the excursions exceeded my expectations. Even without having fans, we stayed cool at night. My partner was worried that the night hikes didn't go enough into the jungle, but you could see everything from the resort ground, which is quite big. It definitely felt like a luxury resort by the way they cared for you. Thank you again to everyone at amak.Guest review byAli CrandallCanada
