- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 120 reviewsFrancesco and Susana were amazing hosts and really made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had access to everything. They even called us and came to pick us up at the airport when we were late because we couldn’t find a taxi! The rooms at the quinta are spacious and clean. The breakfast is nice and varied. The garden and the grounds of the property are beautiful.Guest review bySanamFrance

And very close to Horta that is the big city in the island. And very kind the women of the House.Guest review byJuanSpain

Also the breakfast (for us a freshly squeezed orange juice, a coffee, a sandwich and one of the cakes/sweets) was very good. We felt very comfortable!🙂Guest review byMiriamGermany

What I love about Horta is that you feel like you are entering an entirely different culture and way of living. I do not like traveling to areas where I feel it is American culture in a foreign place. If I go again I would definitely make more of an effort in learning the language enough to carry on small conversations. Breakfast was a culture shock for me. I am used to protein shakes and toast in the morning. They do not eat breakfast that way. There was only one place that served omlettes or eggs but even there it was not close enough to an American breakfast. Lunch and dinner were fine. If you will be there for a week or more I highly suggest you go to the grocery store for breakfast items like milk, cereal, bread etc. The pastries at the various bakeries are to die for. I have put on weight despite heavy walking.Guest review byAmyUnited States - 10.0

My stay there was great, I especially appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the host. The place is perfect if you have to catch a morning flight since it is just opposite the airport, also bus station is just across the street. However, it is not very easily accessible from Horta if you don't have your car; the public transport by bus is limited on weekends, even during the week the bus rides only few times a day, Besides one restaurant 1km away, there are also no other places to eat nearby. But the nature around is amazing and place is very nice, the rooms very comfortable and clean and breakfast is good.Guest review byMonikaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Horta has a long history with the sea and sailing.
Horta has a long history with the sea and sailing. Its a walking paradise with sandy beaches and many trails with great views of island and sea. This place will take you back in time, great food and friendly islanders. Its a place where time has stood still for some time, but with all the moderns necessities. Safe place to relax with your family and be at peace. If you are looking for golfing and casinos and five star hotels this is not you.Guest review byPAULOUnited States - 10.0
We loved the island of Faial and the town of Horta.
We loved the island of Faial and the town of Horta. It was low season and the weather was cooler and unsettled but we managed some magical moments to do a walk or check out a view. Our intent was to do more hiking and the wind and rain prevented much of this from happening. The whale factory museum, the volcano museum and the Skrimshaw museum were all worthwhile visits and when the weather is windy or raining, we still managed to learn some interesting things. Renting a car certainly gives you the flexibility to change up your itinerary with the weather. Be sure to check out the hi-lighted restaurants in the guide books. We had some of our best meals in Horta. The people were very kind and friendly....two thumbs up for Faial!!Guest review byNinaUnited States
