- From £129.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,500 reviewsEveryhing was perfect. The hosts were very welcoming, the atmosphere at the hotel is very cozy, feels like home. The facilities were also great - the pool and jacuzzi were very nice even in the colder season (we were here in March). Very nice and filling breakfast - toast, eggs, hams, cheeses, yoghurt, fruit, freshly baked scones and pies etc… The room is minimalistic, with stylish furniture, all you need. Overall feel at the hotel is that a lot of thought and heart went into it. The location is beautiful - amazing views from the room as well as beautiful nature and attractions nearby.Guest review byRūtaLithuania
- From £405.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 941 reviewsI visited with my wife in February which is an off season for tourist, additionally the weather is windy and cold The property is beautifully located in the nature with birds chirping in the morning, and town church bell ringing… It is truly a fairytale experience. Couples should experience the Suite Room only !!! Worth the experience The staff here are super cooperative and wines definite to try at Quinta Da Pacheca… Look forward to visit again some time soon All in all, I’m glad to make a good choice of staying 02 nights at this hotelGuest review byPratikIndia

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 438 reviewsQuinta de Santa Marinha is an exceptional experience: the unique and marvelous location overlooking the Douro valley, an outstanding architecture with a lot of sentiment to the environment and, most importantly, the hosts make you feel very very welcome, give you plenty of background and recommendations (if you wish to receive). We were lucky to enjoy breakfast and dinner prepared by the decorated young Chef.Guest review byMichaelGermany
- From £95.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 167 reviewsThe view was fantastic, looking down over the valley. The houses are on the quinta, so the mountain road up to them winds through vineyards and olive and almond trees. We rented The Pombal, a converted dovecote, very quaint and comfortable. Easy drive to Vila Nova de Foz Côa, with the museum and tours of the paleolithic rock engravings, and to the Douro Valley.Guest review byJaniceUnited States

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere.
Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool. The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.Guest review byAnneFrance - 8.0
It's a great place to base out of to explore the Duoro.
It's a great place to base out of to explore the Duoro. It's not a fancy town but there's plenty to see, some great places to dine, and the roads in and out of Regua allow easy access to the sites of the surrounding towns.Guest review byTom MoffattUnited States - 10.0

Very hot but what a quaint place. Loved thecmin street and the little surrounding streets. So much history, many churches and amazing views across to the big viaduct if you follow the main street down to the old cemetery . Delightful place.Guest review byAnneNew Zealand - 8.0

Take the train from Porto, relax and enjoy the view along the way. Pinhão is a laid back 'Village' in the stunningly beautiful Douro Valley. I have been before and it hasn't lost its charm. Pinhão provides convenient access to Port Lodges in the vicinity without the need for a car for transportation. Safe Home & Hurry Back, that's what I say!Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
I am so thankful this small hotel was recommended to us.
I am so thankful this small hotel was recommended to us. Our host,Felipe was by far the most gracious person we encountered during are time in Portugal. The hotel was warm with so many extra touches to make you feel at home, and our room had a fantastic view of the Douro River. There was an excellent breakfast each morning. The house cat,Mia was a kick. If you are in the Douro, I highly recommend you stay at Imaginario d'El-Rei.Guest review byCeciliaUnited States - 6.0

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.Guest review byDmitryUnited States - 10.0

The region is famous for the prehistorick art on rocks depicting animals 20,000 or more years ago, but there is also a profusion of medieval castles around and cultural sites. For lovers of good wine it is also an excellent visit, the north style of food is marvellous and all is very quiet. Some roads are a bit narrow if you want to go to remote pleces... I suggest to visit with time and go visit the small places, enjoy the quiet, the occasional wild animals, and take some time to hear the local people's stories.Guest review byWanderingwonderPortugal - 10.0

This is a great place to spend the best time in the Douro Valley and enjoy the surroundings with the best views, terrace vineyards and wineries. The outdoor pool attracts you even more, especially if you have a teenager who wants to spend time around the pool / beach.Guest review byAsparuhBulgaria - 8.0
Lamego was lovely.
Lamego was lovely. Rooms, facilities and restaurant was excellent. No response to emails prior to arrival, and check in was difficult (we arrived late). Confirmation did not advise if the restaurant was going to be open. The dining room was open and the food and service was very good. It would have helped if we knew in advance the restaurant was going to be serving. Breakfast was excellent.Guest review byThomas
