- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 134 reviewsIf you are looking to stay in a quiet place with a royal, historical, touch, this is the place! Conveniently located close to Visby (10mins by car), the hotel sits on a cliff with the most amazing views and sunsets. We just loved the charm and history and the antique furniture and deco with a royal history. This kind of feeling just cannot be recreated in a modern setting. The uniqueness and authenticity of this place must be preserved! The staff is very friendly and easy-going and also for late arrivals or early check-out, convenient solutions are offered. We spent 4 nights here and were able to discover a lot of what the island of Gotland, and the town of Visby, have to offer. There is ample and absolutely safe parking within the (large) premises and the area is just great for (evening) walks and strolls. The ideal place to take in good Baltic Sea air, relax, enjoy and recharge the batteries. And that with everything just at the doorstep... We will most definitely return and highly recommend staying here!Guest review byRBelgium

We will definitely come back!Guest review byValentinaItaly

We came there by bicycle from Visby, and it was a very pleasant ride with great scenery. There is a parking space for bicycles just outside the hotel, and the neighborhood is very quiet. The breakfast there was delicious, with a good variety of food and pancakes!Guest review byNancy AnastasiaSweden

Visby is nothing short of magical.
Visby is nothing short of magical. Walking along the ancient city walls and exploring the picturesque alleys feels like stepping back in time. The stunning views of the Baltic Sea, especially during sunset, were breathtaking. This is a Swedish gem for anyone looking for a blend of history, beauty, and tranquility.Guest review byAngélica MariaSweden - 10.0

We spent this Midsummer at Slite Strand Resort, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. ✨ Set right on the water, the property was clean, calm, and peaceful—an ideal escape to soak in the long days and bright Nordic skies. The stillness of the sea, the scent of summer blooms, and the gentle hum of celebration made it a truly memorable spot to welcome the season. 💛 If you're ever in Gotland during summer, this place is worth a visit.Guest review byVinay DharSweden - 8.0
Visby offers a wealth of history with its well-preserved...
Visby offers a wealth of history with its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the impressive city wall and numerous church ruins. The old town is featuring charming cobblestone streets and vibrant rose-covered cottages. The Botanical Garden is also worth visiting for its diverse plant life and tranquil atmosphere. The surrounding Gotland countryside is equally beautiful, offering stunning coastal views and picturesque villages. Everything worth visiting in Visby is within walking distance. However, a common challenge for tourists in Visby, as in many popular destinations, is finding dining options that aren't primarily aimed at tourists. Many restaurants in the old town cater to visitors, which can mean higher prices and a less authentic culinary experience. Sankt Hans Café left a good impression, offering a more genuine taste of local cuisine.Guest review byOlavi aka MacEstonia - 10.0
Loved exploring the old churches and reading the stories...
Loved exploring the old churches and reading the stories about the old wall. The old town is easy and fun to explore over a long weekend. It has cobblestoned streets so leave your fancy shoes at home. Very walkable, but there are also a handful of taxis. There are many bike hire places and coastal rides to do. There are lots of good places that have honest pricing to eat and drink at if you look around. Most places are very expensive to stay in within the old town. Book at least six months in advance to have a choice.Guest review byCarolAustralia
