I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel.
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. First, the location was completely unsuitable — it turned out to be in an industrial exhibition area, not at all what I expected. I also paid 30% extra for a balcony room, but the balcony faced a parking and loading area, offering no added value. Second and most serious, I was charged at the time of booking via Booking.com, but upon arrival, the hotel claimed they hadn’t received the payment and made me pay again. Despite showing proof of the original charge, the staff refused to help and told me to deal with Booking.com myself. I ended up paying twice for a one-night stay. At checkout, no one took responsibility. Both the hotel and Booking.com admitted they received my money — but neither refunded me. It's now been over a week, and I’ve written and called multiple times with no resolution. I am still waiting to get my money back for the duplicate charge. The complete lack of support, communication, and accountability from both the hotel and Booking.com is unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel, and I advise travelers to double-check payments and be cautious.Guest review byAnonymousSweden - 10.0

Wonderful castle and walks around and through the city were most enjoyable. The area is flat so no problems with steep inclines. Interesting history with many photo opportunities. Even took advantage of a local folk singing concert. We came away most refreshed and look forward to visiting again.Guest review byEvans - 10.0

The hotel is in the center of town, a 5 minute walk to the train station. Public parking is next to the hotel; after 6 pm it is free until 9 am. Though the hotel appears old on the outside, it has very nice interior and rooms. The rooms had good lighting and Wi-fi Breakfast was excellent.Guest review byDelvin HansenUnited States - 8.0

Charming little village with cobble stones and pretty facades. Known for the sweets and lollies. Compare the prices as the main street tends to be more expensive. Take the boat to Visingso and rent a bike to discover the island.Guest review byGeraldineBelgium - 6.0
A town with less population.
A town with less population. I recommend to stay near lake or within the forest, provided you have your own vehicle to commute. Most of the shops and restaurants are located in the center of the town.Guest review byMANJU BSweden - 8.0
A city full of beauty and culture.
A city full of beauty and culture. My visit was timed with high school Prom season, which is a celebrated event here. Saw some amazing vintage cars during the prom processions. The food options are phenomenal. As someone with gluten intolerance, I found it a simple process to find good food. Several food festivals happened during my trip, and the flavours were a party in my mouth. Jönköping is a great jumping-off point to other cities in the region, which are only a bus or train ride away. Great for day tripping. Also, there are plenty of walking trails in the area too.Guest review byAmyAustralia - 10.0

I was in Vaxjo to research my family ancestors. I used the Emmigrant House resources. I was sorry the the Smaland museum was temporarily closed for renovations. It think it would be a great place to visit.Guest review byAmandaUnited States - 10.0
Small but very cozy city with beautiful lake views.
Small but very cozy city with beautiful lake views. City is popular for their candies, on the main street of Gränna there is a number of candy shops with huge selection of different sweets and you can see their production process. Could not find a decent place to eat though, basically sandwiches and candies all around :)Guest review byMarksLatvia - 6.0
Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "...
Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "pleasant enough, but not interesting". The main reason to come here us to take a ferry, after all. I got to spend more time here than planned thanks to a last-minute ferry cancellation; while Oskarshamn is not a bad place to be stuck in for a night, it's definitely not something to put on your bucket list. Notes: - Restaurant Cecil is decent - Adels Hotel is very close to the Gotland Ferry terminal and quite cheap; the fact there is very little personnel on-site makes for an odd experience, though. - Oskarshamn is pretty small and walkable, but somewhat hilly.Guest review byJohannes
