We were greeted by a delightful young man at reception. We were slightly early for check in, so we were given cold drinks while we waited about ten minutes. There is free parking outside and there are cameras for security. There is a lift to reception and the rooms. It is also all secure. Our room was big, modern very clean and full of natural light. The bed was very comfortable and great pillows. Nice bathroom with lovely shower. There was aircon in the main room which worked really well. There was a large TV. The breakfast was fabulous and again, lovely friendly staff. A great selection of food to choose from and all very fresh, colorful and tasty. There is a Lidl's close by and also a great Italian restaurant. The hotel was located close to everything by walking. Recommend this hotel as the perfect place to stay. Lovely staff, safe, clean, free parking, great breakfast.

The breakfast and other meals were great. The restaurant is on the first floor and serves tasty buffet breakfast with variety of options including pancakes, french toasts, coffee, tea and juices. The bar is outside in front of the hotel and serves amazing cold Slovak beers and drinks, perfect for hot summers. The food is also very good, from burger and hranolky (nice version of fries), to curry or fish. The rooms are very high quality, there is basic air-conditioning, 2 beds or king-size bed and sofa, fridge, electric kettle, TV and other commodities. The bathroom was perfect. The shower had great pressure and everything was so clean. The hotel has a great decor and atmosphere, everything is a great hybrid of wooden rustic elements with some boho touches. There are a ton of books to read and many attractions to do. From paddleboarding, various swings, talking with friendly locals, swimming in the lake, sailing and sightseeing the amazing Slovak castles that are close-by. The Veľká Domaša lake is beautiful, very clean and picturesque. This was our third short visit to Slovakia in a span of a year, and we have to say that the quality of accommodation, amazing places like lakes, mountains and castles and friendliness of people are superior in Slovakia than it is in many places in our country of Poland. You do not feel overwhelmed with tourists, garbage and commercialism like McDonald's and tons of pricey shops here. So far for us, the northern and eastern Slovakia proved to be authentic, beautiful and very easy to travel from southern Poland. And most of all, it is full of lovely people, such as the crew at the Zatoka hotel! ďakujem!

This hotel is finished to a very high standard and impeccably clean, well above expectation for a 3* hotel. The staff did everything to make our overnight stay perfectly organised. There is secure parking behind automated gates. Note that the reception is not manned all the time, so phone the number on the door. Also, note that the hotel restaurant is not open all days, generally less restaurants in the region are open on Sundays, so we stopped off in the near town of Presov. Be sure to look at the medieval wall still standing along some back streets.

Presov has beatiful main square and main street with renaisance, impressive buildings, beautiful old town hall and an impressive Gothic con-cathedral which is by the way taller than St Michel-St Gudula gotic cathedral in Brussels and the city has played an important role in the 14th-17th century during the Habsburg vs Protestants periods. The city has had their own small army, richness from the trade that was a centre between Cracow and Buda with underground caves with Tokaj wine where Prešov /Eperjes/Fragopolis was the main owner of Tokaj wine fields and whereas the name for Tokaj hills is still named after Prešov - Eperjesi hegyek, the city of Prešov has an important Jewish museum and synagogue, where the museum was recently unfortunately temporary closed by the state, ministry. The city had famous Lutheran collegium a higher school in mediaval time and Greek catholic and Orthodox impressive churches. There is University which produce many valuable historical books in last decades:

A very historic and interesting town.

A very historic and interesting town. Beautifully restored after decades of neglect. IMMACULATE centre. UK could learn some lessons. For us, it was a base for visiting the UNESCO wooden churches and there is a superb English-speaking guide bookable at the TIC at the top of the square. She speaks Slovak so can get the key for these unique and glorious churches. Lists of names and numbers at each church. Be careful of parking on the square; not permitted in daytime. Check notices. SUPERB beyond words restaurant ASSISI with 5* cafe opposite. Easy to spend the day there. It is on a train route from Kosice to where we flew with Wizzair. Quiet little airport. Lovely small walkable town.

Third time I've been to this lovely old walled town. Lots of wee Cafes, restaurants, ice cream shops. Town goes to bed quite early so don't expect a cabaret till two in the morning but do expected a peaceful night. You have easy access to a range of day trips to the west the high Tara mountains, to the south the Slovakian Raj (all hidden so google it to see the wonderful gorge walking) and to the east and north forested valleys with wooden churches to explore. Prices are great, whole place deserves more visitors.

Vrbov may be of your interests in the following ways: (1) Within it you will find thermal park with eight to ten stars of services, more suitable for families than young singles. (2) High Tatras mountains are just some 20 minutes riding away. (3) In close neighborhood of Vrbov you can find historical places in Kezmarok (city castle, old town hall, some churches), village Strazky with known manor with gallery of Mednyanski painter, and, for example, urban protected area in Spisska Sobota (suburb of the city of Poprad).

A fascinating old historical town. Wonderful castle and Skanzen (heritage museum showing how people lived in the area centuries ago). A good centre for exploring the local area. Close to the Polish border. The old centre is up a hill so for less mobile people their own transport will help. The bus station and train station are at the bottom of the hill! Good and cheap local taxis. There are plenty of restaurants.

Rafting the river and hiking up to the top of the Three Crowns was fantastic as well as walking the developed trail along the Dunajec River. Rafting the river is unique and a "must do". The river trail however can be quite crowded especially for bicycle riders. Unfortunately, I could not find a good food store in the town but did find a small shop close to the Catholic Church on the other side of the river in Poland. Finally, touring the Monastery itself was inspirational, beautiful and educational. A great place to visit!

We hit upon the place while searching through google. While we were unsure of the trip, it was worth every second. We started with a trip to the Spis castle, While it was unfortunate that we could only visit the surroundings, the view from the castle is worth the hike. The region has a lot to offer. We visited the famous Dobsinska ice cave and Strbske Pleso, which is a beautiful little town with a lake.

    A beautiful place.

A beautiful place. Lovely coffee shops (give TIC a try), great places to eat, super wine tasting opportunities and all at a nice easy pace. Plenty of super hotels to stay in and reasonably priced compared to home (NI). Came here last year for a nieces wedding and brought a cousin back this year to explore a bit more of Prešov. We took a car and stayed up the mountains (tatras) for a couple of nights which was worth doing. It’s different but still extremely homely.
