I recently stayed at The Garten Living Hotel with my partner and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was blown away by the hotel’s design – every corner was beautifully crafted, offering a perfect blend of modern elegance and comfort. The ambiance truly set the tone for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfy, and I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. It’s clear that the hotel really invests in providing a restful experience for its guests. But the standout feature for me was definitely the bathroom. It was spacious, and stylish, and had this incredible feature where natural light streamed in, making it feel airy and refreshing. It felt like a spa retreat every time I stepped in. Breakfast was another highlight – the spread was not only fresh but also delicious. I loved how tasty everything was, and it gave me the perfect start to my day. For dinner, I decided to try their burger, and I was not disappointed. It was mouthwatering, with perfectly cooked beef, fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of flavors. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and great food.

The location!! Just up from the beach and very close to mtende village also. Beautiful resort and area. So quiet and full of nature. They have just opened their restaurant and all the food was super, as well as the breakfast. Massage and am small gym available also. All the staff were so accommodating and attentive to every need. Highly recommend. Mtende is a hidden gem.

    We had such a great time at Jambiani Villas - The amazing breakfast to start the day with fresh fruit, eggs to order, espresso, joghurt, pastries you name it. We loved the walk along the beach to the restaurant. The properties are all beautiful. We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa and it was just perfect - waking up with a view of the beach and ocean was amazing. Super helpful hosts who organized all our excursions and were always there to answer questions and help with transportation. We ventured out a few times to other restaurants near by for dinner - but the dinners at the restaurant of Jambiani Villas were the best- such great vibe and always changing daily special - made us feel like home.

    We hit the jackpot with this resort which is beautifully laid out with lush green gardens, multiple sparkling clean pools and excellent facilities. The rooms are large, comfortable well appointed. The meals were plentiful, varied and delicious with lots of vegetarian options. The staff are friendly, and go over and above to ensure guests every need are meet. The beach felt safe and clean and we did not see any sea urchins. It was a real bonus to be entertained by the family of rare Colobus monkeys.

    We had a lovely, 4 night stay at Fun Beach Hotel. The staff was extremely nice, the food was amazing, the location is just perfect, Jambiani is walkable, Paje is 5 minutes by car.     Jerry is a wonderful Location next to the beach. We stayed there for 4 days and enjoyed it The staff was very helpful and supportive. The rooms are nice and clean. And Jambiani is a nice and quiet place to stay. Next time I would go there again.

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

    I've been in Makunduchi before and if you don't want to be in the tourist hotspot it is great! The beach is fantastic (but be aware of the low and high tides). I would recommend arranging for a driver to get around as there are many great places to visit and you shouldn't stay put in just one place.

    This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the breakfast is fresh and delicious, and very friendly staff.     A wide variety of restaurants, good food. Lovey eatery's on the beach overlooking the ocean. Easy to walk around to the market and the local shops. Ideal holiday for those who love the ocean and water sport's, the local friendliness is an added bonus.

    beautiful beach!!!!

    beautiful beach!!!! However not the best beach for bathing because when is lower tide you simply have to walk to much for a swim. beach in the north are better if you have kids. Much more quiet than Page and less windy as well. Very safe neighborhood with nice restaurants.

    Paradise …Jim’s, Salim, Irene and Juliane were exceptional always ready to help. They just couldn’t do enough for you. The reception staff especially Yusef were very accommodating especially as we arrived very early from Dar-es-Salam! They let us drop our bags and enjoy all the facilities until our room was ready! We had a wonderful stay in Paradise.

    Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.
