If you love the great outdoors, you'll love Marienville.
If you love the great outdoors, you'll love Marienville. Excellent restaurants, especially Sportsman's Paradise. What a gem. Unassuming from the outside, but what a delight when you step inside. Newly remodeled and very clean. Excellent menu, fast & friendly service, and superb staff. Rode the Route 66 bike trail from Vowinckel to Lucinda. Excellent trail. Also, enjoyed riding River Road at Cook Forest from Rt 36 to Rt 899. Can't go wrong going to Cousin Basils for lunch or dinner. They have excellent food and great service. Don't forget to enjoy the hiking trails, but take some insect repellant to avoid the ticks.Guest review byLarryUnited States - 10.0

Easy access to get to Benzette to see the Elk while still being in a quiet friendly area. A hidden gem that we found to eat at was The First Chance Inn which is only about a 10 minute drive from the motel. Home cooked food, very friendly staff and huge portions. Taking a tour of the Straub Brewery is a must. Again, staff is extremely friendly and the history is exceptional. There is nothing that I would avoid, This is a very friendly area which is why we keep coming back to the same area.Guest review byCyndiUnited States - 8.0

It's more of a small community close to Warren PA, but Warren has a very nice little downtown area for shopping and restaurants, also good architecture. We also ate at fantastic little restaurant called The Train Station, which I highly recommend for breakfast.Guest review byLyleCanada - 8.0

There's not a lot of "night life" in Clarendon but during the day there's several state Parks and the Alleghany State Forest all around you. If you enjoy hiking and the fall foliage there's plenty of both here. The roads in the area are well paved and maintained but some attractions are kinda out of the way so a GPS is always a good idea. Remember that you're way out in God's Country and finding some of the amenities you're accustomed to may take 15-30 minutes to get to. All in all it's a beautiful area with lots of nice people.Guest review byTracer - 8.0

It's right inside Allegheny National Forest, so there's a lot of hiking to be done. As we both enjoy the outdoors, if we could have stayed longer, we would have loved to explore more trails. Sadly we only had time to walk three. As you can see by the photos I've included, fall is definitely a breathtakingly beautiful time to visit. The Johnny Appleseed Festival in Sheffield just a few minutes drive away was fun, and so was walking out along skywalk of the Kinzu Viaduct. There's a very cute museum there as well, with lots of interactive exhibits.Guest review byKatherineUnited States
