FAQs about hotels in California
The American Dream
From the searing depths of Death Valley to the snow-capped peaks of the Lake Tahoe mountains, California is a wonderful US state that sums up the American Dream. Nowhere is this more evident than Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood and many stars who grace its red carpets.
In the south-west, Anaheim has a great range of Californian hotels near Disneyland where the magic of the movies comes to life. Sun-drenched San Diego, located close to the Mexican border in the state's south-western tip, is a popular spring break destination as is Palm Springs in a valley surrounded by rugged mountains.
In the well-known wine region of the Napa Valley the vineyards produce some fantastic wines, while Monterey is best known for its spicy cheese and the beautiful coastline that becomes the Big Sur coastal drive. Another driving adventure is the fabled Route 66 and parts of it pass through California, ending at Santa Monica pier.
Along the coast is beautiful Santa Barbara, and further north San Francisco is home to a good proportion of Californian hotels with indoor pools on Booking.com. The Golden Gate city is set around an exclusive bay which ends at Silicon Valley in San Jose, while famous Berkeley University is just across the water. The stunning natural beauty of Yosemite National Park is further east, while Sacramento is to the north-east.

- From £185.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,464 reviewsThe hotel is right on the ocean front and even if you don't get an ocean-facing room, it's easy to walk out to the pool or the look-out point for a fantastic view of the sunset. A simple complimentary breakfast is provided. It wasn't so bad as there were some hot items. There's also a restaurant and bar in the next building so it's easy to get dinner if you don't feel like driving out for dinner. The reception staff were efficient. The room was large.Guest review byTeoSingapore

So much to see and do. Fantastic museums.
So much to see and do. Fantastic museums. Would go to many again and again if I could. Favorites are La Brea Tar Pits (a gem!!! way under appreciated), the Huntington in Pasadena (gardens and the art collections!!!), the Petersen Automotive Museum and the Vault underneath it (separate ticket fee, but worth it), and the Getty's (2). Many more but those we've visited already and plan to visit again. We also have enjoyed seeing the sites (locations around LA) that have featured prominently in our favorite series (Bosch). Many great destinations featured and fun to see a couple more each time we come thru LA.Guest review byDean - 10.0

My review of San Francisco: Gorgeous city, with really awesome weather and amazing food options. There are plenty of transportation options for people who don't have a car, from BART to Waymo to the iconic cable cars. The city is also very walkable, despite its hilly nature.Guest review byDietz - 10.0

San Diego is one of the smallest city Ive visited in the US, Recommend: the USS Midway museum; if you're into war history and Naval ships. Have a stroll on the bayfront a lot of maritime traffic to observe. Grab a baseball game: if you're in season, just for the stadium experience, Visit Balboa park and its museums. Grab dinner in Little Italy. Enjoy the beach at Coronado island. Visit the Zoo: if you're into animals.Guest review byJT Q23Curaçao - 10.0

All ranges of accommodation from 5-star to hostels and are central to both the Convention Center and Disneyland. A 5-10 minute walk to get to a restaurant, bus, or convenience store. Temperate year round. Layer clothing from mid October to mid March. Easy, quick access to all the beaches and the mountains; Hollywood, Palm Springs; and every micro climate and cultures that richly define southern California!Guest review byRichardUnited States - 10.0

very pretty, weather was great, beaches was perfect for what i wanted, and even was able to do a little swimming in the lake. i went to pope beach and was $12 for entry, was well worth it. tried to get to a couple other beaches and it was super hard to find parking. pope beach was great and was able to get to the beach right from my parking spot. went to a couple outlets and people was really nice. traffic was not bad, even though there was allot of road work going on. bring your own beach needs because it is expensive at the stores to buy. love the big 5.Guest review byCJUnited States - 6.0

I liked the area of the property as its right next to the on and off ramp for the Hwy. Its right next to the Denny's, well as a Walmart super center! Theres also Wendys, and Starbucks across the street! Its far enough from the inner city were there tends to be a lot of riff raff as well low scale crime, as well as drugs. I felt at peace, and you can tell that the management puts a lot towards 2training her staff! Real good hard-working staff as well as very courteous and attentive to the guests needs! I figured that there would be a lot of noise and everything else that's associated with hotels that are more cost effective.Guest review byRufusUnited States - 8.0

I primarily went to the theatre, visiting with family and shopping. I would strongly suggest not planning outside activities in the summer as the temperatures are frequently in the 90s and low 100s. All indoor places that I have ever gone to there have air-conditioning. In the past I have enjoyed visiting The Railroad Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, and the Capital Building. There are also some old mansions that were interesting.Guest review byGezina - 10.0

When I was young I lived in San Jose and our mom would bring us to Santa Cruz all summer long. Coming again as an adult brought back so many fond memories. The boardwalk was so different then then. Santa Cruz is such a fun place and so many rides and shops. Every child needs to experience it at least once in their lifetime.Guest review byWanda PapineauUnited States
