Lovely lodge style hotel in beautiful grounds at an amazing location. Lovely common areas to read, relax, and have a cup of tea. The hotel buildings are set in a park, ideal for a relaxing walk. It's only a short walk down to Tomales Bay - I went down very early to enjoy a walk in the fog.

We were on our honeymoon and were made to feel very welcome. The bottle of wine was a nice touch too. We loved our bay window with view of the gorgeous gardens. Some deer came to graze on our first morning - a magical experience. The food at the restaurant was really good, and the staff were lovely. Joe was very sweet providing us with tips for our visit to the area.

This is an unconventional hotel but better for. Strong French theme which works well and themed decorations and fittings. Important basics, cleanliness, bed and bedding, bathroom and towels are good. Breakfast is low key but healthy and fresh. Coffee very good. It's quiet, easy to get to with good restaurants nearby. Try it. Keep an open mind it will surprise you in a good wY.

Market is excellent; great selection and presentation.

Market is excellent; great selection and presentation. We shopped and cooked or made picnics. Restaurants few and expensive. Chef at Roadhouse outstanding, though. Bovine bakery good but unfriendly. Access to Point Reyes excellent--and Point Reyes is an amazing place! Want to be alone on a vast stretch of beach? Go to one that you have to hike to. Lots of wildlife, wide variety of plants. Sand dollars, limpets, crabs.

Very small town but with all the amenities you need for a short stay. I would say 3 days maximum at a time. The beach is amazing and clean. Stayed at Smiley's and it was the best stay I've had anywhere in years. A short drive to Alamere falls and the tidepools add to things to do in the area.

    Great place for families.

Great place for families. We went with daughter and her grown children and spouses. The place was just right for everyone. Fantastic views, great kitchen and something for everyone with the hot tub and game room. Deer in close proximity. Thouroughly enjoyed the stay.❤️

Remote rustic setting near the ocean with vast areas of wilderness for hiking. Be sure to bring enough food if you do not plan to drive out to eat. Expect drives of 30 to 60 minutes each way. Check listings of restaurants and stores for hours and days of operation before driving out.

We ate at The Tides Inn but it’s at Bodega Bay only a half hour away. Dillon Beach was exceptionally fun and friendly people too. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s been improving over time. The only slight bummer I noticed during this visit was there seemed to be a shortage of hamburger at every store we stopped into. I guess it’s time to make larger orders - not sure - maybe it has to do with Covid and supplies and lack of driver - I’m just not sure. Every store owner/clerk/employee was so helpful and offered to look up or call the next store we were heading to to see if they had hamburger prior to us making the trek over. We ended up just having dinner in Bodega Bay at Tides Inn and ordering hamburgers for our adult kids (that’s what they were craving). We had planned to grill them at the house we rented but….supply n demand said otherwise. Hoping to return next year.
