Amazing experience! worth the additional km’s from Cape Town (if your driving) to spend a couple of days at Samara. there’s so much diversity and you never feel like your on the ‘Safari conveyer belt’ with dozens of other tourists!
In particular our guide ‘Marlin’ was terrific! He went out of his way to do everything to ensure we had a wonderful all-round experience.
Lovely property with plenty of space outdoors and indoors. Nice swimming pool , bbq's and outdoor tables and chairs.
Room spotless, beds and pillows very comfortable, aircon worked perfectly.
Big fridge is a bonus .
Easy check in / check out
The tranquility. So much more than expected. The dirt road leading to the farm is well kept. The houses are neat and clean and comfortable. If you need to recharge, to get away from everything Waterval farmstay is the place to go.
Loved the room and the facilities like the pool and garden. We enjoyed our short stay here. The owners were very friendly and consistently checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Will definitely book here again!
Old school and historic place. Staff were amazing, rooms were massive and food was delicious. Love the tourism training initiative. A wonderful stay in a special place
A very good breakfast, terrific hosts and staff.
We had a stunning view at the mountains, which was really great.
Great tips of our hosts were to go for dinner, etc.

The town has a long history and it is very well worthwhile exploring the sights in town as well as the nature reserves nearby. The Valley of Desolation is amazing. Plenty of good places to eat in town. On Sundays the town is very quiet.

It was easy to find the accommodation.
It was easy to find the accommodation. Graaff - Reinet is a must visit town! I found the staff at 4 Rothman street B & B to be professional, friendly and helpful in particlar due to the fact that I arrived very late. Unfortunately it was only overnight stay. I will visit Graaf - Reinet again to explore more of the town and surrounds.

We enjoyed our lunch at Maria's café as well as dinner at Coldstream Restaurant and visited the Graaff-Reinet Museum. We also browsed through local small business shops and bought very delicious dried fruit at Kamdeboo Slaghuis. The highlight of our visit to Graaff-Reinet was most definitely our stay at the Drostdy Hotel with superb breakfast. The friendly hospitality of the well trained staff stood out.
We will definitely visit Graaff-Reinet again in near future.
