- From US$88.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 293 reviewsWe stayed at the cottage next to the reception (Hangnes) for one night and we would have liked to stay longer. The view from the cottage is very beautiful and our hostess/owner at the reception is a very charming person. This is really a place to relax, to feel comfortable and safe. On the patio there were some comfortable easy chairs and also a table and chairs to eat outside. We did not use the hot tub. It was hot outside already ... The only thing you should be aware of is the fact that you had better buy food and drinks before arriving at the cottage. Otherwise you have to drive back to Clanwilliam.Guest review byHildegardeBelgium
- From US$56.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 195 reviewsA palatial country house you could find in France - at about 15 times the price. Very helpful hosts. Safe car park. Swimming pool, which I didn't use because it was very early spring in the southern hemisphere. A fridge FULL of drinks they advertised as "minibar." Never seen any hotel anywhere in the world with 4-5 cooled bottles of first-class white. South Africa at its best. The place is a little quirky. Amargosa Opera House in Cali comes to mind.Guest review byVagabond0007Denmark
- From US$68.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 133 reviewsWe loved the farm and its location. It was exactly what I was looking for. Peace. We loved the experience of being on a working farm. We loved the citrus trees amongst the fynbos and obviously the waterfall. There are lots of birds on the property. We would recommend this farm for people who would like to get away from the city's bustle. I recommend a few nights at least. Please plan you stay with the weather in mind.Guest review byDonSouth Africa

Breakfast in the morning was also imazing. We liked a swimming pool which we had with easy access from the rooms. Whole stay was really excellent for all of us.Guest review byJaroslavCzech Republic

absolutely terrible from the car parking being unsafe ,vagrants at door , dark ,smelly reception . The receptionist was kind and polite . walking to the rooms the corridor was dark and dingy , the rooms were so old fashioned , needs a good pot of paint and bathrooms were from the dark ages ,mouldy and off white .Guest review byAlessandraSouth Africa - 10.0

We only stayed one night at Maskam Guest farm, but I will definitely return. We did not see much of the area as the trip was to see family only. The mountains are spectacular and the night sky is so stunningly clear. I would love to also roam on the farm and see more of it.Guest review bydeVilliers - 10.0
The healing waters of the spring.
The healing waters of the spring. The rock pools are so great, relaxing ... your body and spirit are renewed after relaxing in the pool or rock pools. The absolute quietness are wonderful. Each property or house is designed so that you feel you are the only people around. Love the privacy and connecting with nature. After 43 years of visiting the property love all the upgrades and that it still keep the historic buildings in such a good condition.Guest review byDunhofenSouth Africa - 6.0
The Klawer hotel is something to visit.
The Klawer hotel is something to visit. We had a very interesting meal there. The place itself is not spectacular, but for atmosphere you must visit this Margo's restaurant, if only to see the "Halucinogenic fish" - at least that is what the waitress called the inhabitants of the fishtank that was sitting opposite our table.Guest review byvivSouth Africa - 10.0
Absolutely stunning views.
Absolutely stunning views. Definitely recommend high clearance vehicle. Lots of gravel roads, some are not great. When it rains, the roads are dangerous. Lots of driving through very deep puddles and some bridges washed away. But A+ for adventure.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
I know Clanwilliam well over many years.
I know Clanwilliam well over many years. It is a good base but we were there just one night so no time to visit Ramskop or browse the shops. It is a goos base especially in the flower season. Sadly we missed the Annual Flower Show which I always enjoy. Our stay in 3 Leipolt Street was very comfortable and i commend our host for her friendly welcome and seeing us off. Added touches were noted such as the bottle of wine, rooibos tea, rusks. Recommended a very upmarket restaurant across the street - we had an excellent meal there with an extra careful waiter - new on the job and from Wuppertal, so good to employ local staff and train them.Guest review byTessaSouth Africa - 10.0

The town is quaint and a nice safe walk around it in the evening was a pleasant surprise. The Old Jail is a must see together with the nurseries. Lodge was very accommodating and people seem friendly and helpful. The Shell garage attendants were funny and made filling up an experience. All told - fabulous little dorpie!Guest review byBresler - 4.0

I will never return as everything from the Maintenace round the pool, inside the chalet and outside was not done. Area in the reception was disgusting and open wires under the jacuzzi and outside the chalet after what seems to be a geyser that was replaced. No Wifi for 24 hours on arrival, no water for 3 hours, jacuzzi not working and tripping all the time, grass in the main pool area left very long during peak season TRULY A POOR EXPERIENCE AND I WIL NEVER GO BACKGuest review byArnold - 8.0
Small town but central for travellers. Wine tasting nearby.
Small town but central for travellers. Wine tasting nearby. Clanwilliam, Biedouw Valley and flower route. Niewhwoudtville and nature reserves. Klawer Hotel is a older hotel, great for a stop over. Serves a great pizza. Will certainly make Klawer the next holiday stop for at least 3-4 days. Great for camping.Guest review byThompsonSouth Africa - 10.0
The staff were super friendly, helpful and efficient.
The staff were super friendly, helpful and efficient. Our Eco-Cottage was beautifully positioned to maximise on the stunning mountain scenery and sunsets while being completely private. We booked supper and breakfast in the restaurant. The 3 course meal was superb; I would highly recommend the Lamb shank... The weather was sublime and we could dine out on the deck, still appreciating the surrounding beauty of nature. We would highly recommend this venue and its facilities and will definitely be returning again.Guest review bySusanSouth Africa
