How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewGood memory : - location was great - marvellous palatial design - spacious room - huge bathtub - very nice ocean view from the room - the guestroom has nice interior design - prayer matt was provided - very nice and clean public prayer room - the washroom by the pool was clean, tidy, and bright - double sink with big mirror in the bathroom - clean, green, and tidy garden area - quiet and super private guestroom floor - friendly, polite, and professional staffs : Amar (if not mistaken) as check in staff, 2 staffs at the lobby/butler/bellboy (sorry really forgot the name), Shijo (if not mistaken) as my daily housekeeper - comfortable and high quality bedding (linen, pillow, bed) - walk in closet with iron - toilet and shower were separated - wide variety of food at La Jardin (breakfast & dinner) - the fantastic lobby & lobby lounge - anniversary cake and nice simple decoration. Thank you!
- the cleanliness really has to be improved. It was kind of neglected when we stayed there. At the restaurant especially. The ice cream stall was very messy apperently due to the children. It was understandable until I noticed that no one came to do the cleaning or at least keep it neat and appropriate while we eat. Another one is at the pool area. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone has to maintain the cleanlines and keep it tidy. Not sure if you lack of manpower, but I believe you have separate cleaning team to standby and focus on this. 5 STAR HOTEL, remember?!! - the housekeeper kept moving my stuff around. It was rude! You should not move guest’s staff unless it was necessary. I always left my room in a very very NEAT & ORGANISED condition! Even I already separate the dirty cutleries for them. I am an OCD, I cant stand if my stuff is removed from wherever I leave them. Example : he removed the iron board EVERYTIME. I need to keep it open and ready so easier for me whenever I need to iron my clothes. I dont think it will disturb you when you do the cleaning because my room was ALWAYS SUPER TIDY! I guarantee you because ITS MY STYLE! And also he kept touching my stuffs that I left on the working table. I repeat : DONT MOVE ANYTHING! After two days I had to write notes for him to make him stop. Fortunately, he was very nice guy so I forgive him. - the shampoo and all has a nice smell but not luxurious smell. To be honest, it was kind of cheap smell unfortunately. Not type of 5 STAR HOTEL fragrance. - I was frequently approached by some of the staffs for the CAMERA matter. Even two of them were very rude and aggressive. I already made a LONG FEEDBACK about it through the email. However, I am not satisfied with the answer. It was still kind of BIASED and even though I explained them in a very long narrative and super clear chronology, I cant feel the emphaty toward me as guest. The staffs at the hotel kept telling me that I am not allowed to use professional camera.

Verified reviewBeautiful rooms and hotel overall. Very friendly and helpful staff - waiters, cleaners, spa and pools/ beach, doormen, bellboys. Japanese restaurant very good value and delicious food and drink.
Italian restaurant very expensive what it was! Marketed as high end but looked and felt like any basic Italian restaurant anywhere. Food and drinks very pricey for what was being offered. Same thing with the Italian restaurant next door in the Kempinski property.

The Raffels restaurants have boring menus and very overpriced food and drinks! “Beware of PIATTI Resturant” awful service and food! Over priced !
The Italian Resturant PIATTI was absolutely dreadful, the staff were not warm and came across as cold! They were constantly staring and watching us eating like ready to pounce if a plate was empty! Food was very plain average quality and very expensive! They gave us dry bread as a complementary starter, no dipping sauces like pesto, parasan or olive oil, worst Italian we have ever had been to! I highly recommend anyone not to go there! There’s totally no ambiance at all! Our bill was extortionate for what we got for our money! The pizza was a medium size with an extremely crisp thin boring like cracker crisp base! 140aed! Octopus salad was ok but nothing special! 100aed The fried seafood mostly squid rings were very plain like out of a frozen packet and we paid 100 aed for this! With 3 cocktails and tax etc total bill was 700aed. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind paying if the food is expensive and is of outstanding quality. But this certainly does not meet the 5 star criteria! Seriously I would give it a 2 star rating maximum. I had also informed this Resturant it was a special occasion “my wife’s birthday” they even acknowledged her birthday as per booking on arrival! “But”Not even a complimentary drink for her nothing? No cake nothing! This is first time any Resturant has never done some sort of birthday surprise for her. Absolutely shameful especially considering where this Resturant is, and has the privilege to be on Raffles 5 star grounds😡. Although the hotel advertises Fazza on arrival in reception,this Resturant does not accept Fazza! So beware! They told us they are a 3rd party company and not part of Raffles! Wonderful eh?

Verified reviewWow! what can I say, another amazing stay at Raffles The Palm Dubai. I recently stayed here for the first time in May for 2 weeks and fell completely in love with the hotel, so much so I recently just stayed again for another 2 weeks in August. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the same friendly faces that I saw in May! Check-in was a smooth and easy process like before and my room once again was amazing. Being a solo female traveller, Raffles is somewhere I feel safe, the staff members at every ounce of the property are nothing short of amazing, kind and friendly and will make sure all of your needs are met with the highest form of professionalism. The pool is very large and is surrounded by families, solo travellers and couples etc. The hotel has a lovely restaurant 'Piatti by The Beach' and again the staff and food are amazing. Raffles is in a perfect location on the palm that is quiet and peaceful, yet despite all the ongoing building and construction, remains very quiet. A perfect location and very easy to get around whether that being DT, Marina, Business Bay, JBR, other parts of the palm. The hotel always smells amazing, and HK on the 4th floor are always so polite and friendly and will always do an amazing turndown service in the evening. The room and hotel are always very well maintained, including the beautiful gardens, water is provided regularly and always fresh towels and the bed is very comfortable. Raffles as a whole, has an amazing feel, so if you are looking for a solo and family friendly hotel, Raffles is your place - you will not be disappointed!
