Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe air conditioning is only in the bedroom so the rest of the cottage could be uncomfortably hot. The walkway is uneven and a trip hazard. Several deckboards on the way down need to be replaced. No handrails on some stairs. Galley Bay beach is beautiful, but sometimes rough. A car is needed for travel to calmer beaches on some days.
We loved the view from our shady balcony, the beautiful nearby beach, the comfortable king size bed, and the modern kitchen. Our hostess Michela was so helpful. She met us at the airport car rental. We followed her to a grocery store and she waited while we did our shopping. Then we followed her to the cottage and she helped us with our luggage.

Trinidad and TobagoAccess reaching up to the cottage is a bit tricky if you don’t have a 4x4 but if not you would have to park a few feet away from the steep driveway. It’s noting to difficult once you don’t have any knee issues.
I liked that the host met us at the airport and had us drive behind so we won’t get lost as it’s a bit tricky to find the cottage due to its location. Thankfully they did because I would have certainly missed it even using a map. The Host also offered to take us to the supermarket which I find was very nice. Michela was very friendly and authentic.

United KingdomAmazing location. Close to the beach and the view was sublime. Air conditioning in the bedroom was useful to help sleeping in the hot weather.

United KingdomNothing that we didn't like! One tip is that is advisable to have a rental car if you are staying here to get to shops and restaurants, tough the beach is very close walking distance.
Great location next to our favourite beach on the island - Galley Bay! The cottage is comfortable and has an incredible view of the ocean and of sunset. It served as a great base for us as we explored St John's and the various sites and beaches in the North of the island.

United KingdomThe cottage is a bit dusty and needs some extra care
The location is great, just a short walk to Galley bay, one of the best beach in the island, and from the patio the view is amazing. Both Marco and Camilla were very nice and helpful

SwedenWonderful cottage, beautiful location, interior and size. It was perfect for the two of us and we loved every minute of the stay!! Especially the wind going through the big bedroom window facing the ocean, so peaceful!

United KingdomBadly maintained external environment. Distance from anywhere to buy a drink or a meal. The lack of facilities for us on beach as non residents of the hotel and private gated development.
No breakfast, location fantastic but a very serious climb up to the property - we are in our late 70s . The steps were difficult as was a broken down path. There was remediation work on-going but garden refuse and builders waste was left lying around the site. The views were fantastic but spoilt by living with a messy environment. Oven didn't work and we couldn't make the microwave work. The bedroom chest of drawers was nearly impossible to use because of warping. It was easy to keep the place cool mostly but in the afternoons the front terrace with the magnificent view was too hot to use though mostly in the shade. No one should rent this property without a hire-car. The nearest bar/restaurant (where we were made most welcome) was a 25 minute walk in the heat. Impossible to rent a lounger and umbrella on the nearby beaches - which were fantastic - because all the infrastructure was owned by the resorts. Be prepared to embrace the local taxi serivce if you don't have a car.
