Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe doorms have no door and there is a super strong light in the corridor before getting in. It was consistently being turned on during the night. If you are light sensitive and eye mask is a must.
The staff was very helpful. All the recommendations for food and for tirana transportatio were spot on. They were very kind. Food at dinner time was very tasty.

Trinidad and TobagoWifi signal was initially a bit difficult but settled. If you are not an animal lover then this stay is not for you as there are 2 cats, who are quite friendly.
The location is great. This was my first stay at a hostel, initially was sceptical. All in all the room was well kept , good breakfast and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

United StatesFacilities still need lots of improvement, cant really use the restaurant when it rains. Doesn't have a hostel energy at all. While I appreciate that there were no bunks, it felt like we could all watch eachother while sleeping.
Great location, good value, nice family style space, delicious breakfast, good lockers. I will probably come back and stay in a private room.

SwitzerlandI had a fantastic stay at Bob Marley Hostel! The host was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about the city of Tirana, making me feel right at home. The cozy fireplace added a charming touch, and I loved sitting outside in the evenings with a cold beer, soaking in the atmosphere. One of the highlights was the soothing sound of rain on the roof, creating a peaceful ambiance. In the mornings, I was treated to fresh-pressed orange juice, a delightful start to the day. I especially appreciated how the staff went out of their way to make sure I had a smooth departure, even waking up early to let me out without any hassle. Overall, my experience was warm and inviting, and I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Tirana!

AustraliaAll the staff members were extremely hospitable and made sure our stay was comfortable. The accomodation was clean, comfortable, and we enjoyed being around all the animals in the outdoor areas! The food and drinks were also delicious 👌 We were able to get Traditional Albanian dance lessons sorted by Joy which I would 100% recommend.

AustraliaPastas didn’t have much flavour. Room was right outside the bar area and was noisy til midnight. More for people who want to stay up and have a drink.
Very central and near bus stop. Outdoor garden area was nice.

United StatesThis hostel was very nice. However, here are the challenges I experienced: Showers and bathing areas were very clean, large, exceeded expectations. There are cats that are dieing, and thus lose bodily fluids on the bedding, which smells rather decrepit. The dorm room is all single twin beds - excellent. The location is two blocks one way from the central market, and two blocks the other way from VERY expensive Conan Italian Market. Hint- a grocer that is higher priced than California grocery stores in L.A. There is a weird guy from Albania that MIGHT be psychopathic who claims to have worked for the CIA. He has breathing problems, and will try to engage you in conversation about weird stuff, while also trying to infect you with various bronchial maladies, and also snooping through your stuff if you leave the hostel. Avoid this situation, because it is truly, virally insane. The children there are extremely lovable types who adore painting. The bedroom is weird. There is a window area of Bob Marley that not only has no A/C, but is also very closely aligned to poor building codes, so that rats and other vermin may easily access the dorm sleeping areas.

Czech RepublicThe combination of an unfortunately situated Lemon room (I cannot really recommend this one: minimal narrow window, more like a goat shed in the past, directly adjacent to the bar open space) and an unbelievably ignorant staff in the late night hours until long after 1am (loud talking again and again righ behind the room front wall) was somehow too much even for myself, rather very tolerant person. Every single of our 3 other accomodations during our trip in the country(!) (and every breakfast..) was much more pleasant than this. Overall, the place IMO seems to lack maintenance and slowly verging to "faded glory". Which is a pity.
Great location close to the skanderbeg square and quite enjoyable menu, the lamb-one (we stayed for a dinner) was indeed delicious.

Hungary-
This place is very cozy. I felt myself like at home. It was my first time in Tirana and i think not the last. If I go again, I will definitely stay here again. The owner is amazing woman, very friendly and attentive. The room was cleaned every day, everything is new and modern. Hot water was every day. The breakfast is very tasty. The location is very comfortable, everything is very near. I liked to sit on the terrace in the evening and drink tea. If you are looking for a nice and calm place to stay it will be the best for one tourist, for a group of friends and for families as well. Thank you so much for everything.

CanadaArcolia & Bertie are two very creative people who have transformed a classic courtyard and building into a lovely garden restaurant/bar in the centre of Tirana. When I was there they were working on the last details, getting ready for an opening party to happen before Christmas and I wish I could have been there. They had a nice fire in the evenings during the colder season in a separate area of the courtyard and interesting conversations. They will help you get anything you would need, as well as advise on areas of Tirana to visit. I hope to have a chance to return and see the finished garden and lots of visitors!
