Parking was a bit difficult. Being so close to the castle, there are no wide and flat roads to park. But the staff still helped us find a decent parking spot.

The place is really close to the castle. You can see the castle from the hotel. The rooms have a really cosy vibe and is very neat. The staff were very friendly.

Amazing views, such a cute authentic Albanian home, food was delicious. Such helpful staff. I 100% recommend staying here. 5 min walk to the castle and 9 min walk to old town. LOVED IT!

To get from the new town to the old town and the hotel in particular is hilly, fine for me and I found ways to avoid the very steep hill to the hotel, which is the most direct route, but may not be manageable for others and will require a taxi if with heavy luggage. Ask what coffee I’d like for breakfast rather than assume I just want an espresso. Other than that, nothing else I didn’t like.

The view from the hotel is stunning and definitely the hotels selling point. The location is near the old part of Gjirokastër so convenient for the castle and places to eat and drink. The room was fantastic, clean and spacious. Very comfortable bed. Very good value for money. Breakfast, with a view was nice, was nice too.

I could not recommend anywhere more to stay during our whole trip in Albania. The couple that run this hotel with their parents were incredible and helpful. The views are amazing and with the town so busy with tourists it was so nice to be set slightly up the hill but still only a few minutes walk from town. We also stayed for lunch the next day and the food was some of the best we’ve had in Albania.

We loved the room and the view from the breakfast terrace. The staff was friendly and the second I sat down, we got served breakfast. They also help you out with parking so you do not have to worry about finding your own parking place. We would stay there again.

The bathroom is a bit small. The shower is without a curtain and it's a bit tricky not to get the whole bathroom wet. The room temperature was a bit chilly but there was a AC/heater that allowed to adjust the temperature.

The breakfast is exceptional. The location is great. The host was friendly and helpful. The place has parking.

A fantastic experience! Castle Hotel welcomed us with warm hospitality and a really cozy atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, and the view from the terrace was simply beautiful – especially in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee. Breakfast was traditional and tasty, made with fresh ingredients. What stood out most was the staff – incredibly kind and always ready to help. We’ll definitely be back.

The washroom is rather small and the bed was 2 separate mattresses it’s quite an uphill walk to the hotel also but this can’t be helped and if there wasn’t this walk there wouldn’t be the views taht it had, overall just very minor issues but still a great stay

The staff were so friendly, nice family ran hotel, very nice family the view and location is amazing, it’s right next to the castle and old bazaar, the staff gave recommendations on where to eat and even gave us a run to the bus terminal in the morning

Brace yourself walking up the hill if you dont have a car. The hotel is next to the castle (hence the name!), but not very difficult to walk up.

Getting to it with a car! If you’re driving there, make sure to go around the outside of town and up Rruga Evila Celebi (the new road) - not through the centre of the town and up the narrow windy and very steep cobblestoned paths (which end up blocked by steep stairs).

Great location right next to the castle. Super friendly staff - very helpful with everything, including arrival, breakfast, drying wet clothes and parking our car on the steep path! Simple but tasty breakfast on the terrace with a great view. Big, clean and comfortable rooms.
