How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. The bathroom was unacceptable: dirty, the shower cabin was missing an entire side so it could not close, the toilet lid was broken, and the shower rails were falling apart , clearly no maintenance has been done. I was also charged 50 LEK more than my confirmed price, even though I paid in LEK and no currency conversion should have been applied. Finally, breakfast was poorly managed: nobody informed me about the hours or even confirmed it was included, and I only knew thanks to my wife double-checking the booking.
We accept constructive criticism, but not false statements. We are sorry for the 40 places you say you have visited, because tourists like you are a true demotivation for those of us who have a real passion for hospitality. We will report this to Booking, because you are making false claims about the conditions, including things that can be very easily verified: the breakfast schedule and the Wi-Fi code, which is automatically sent after a confirmed booking. In addition, upon check-in you are provided with written information, including breakfast times and other details. If you continue to make false statements, we kindly ask that you do not choose Albania as your travel destination, because we do not want such tourists here.

We aint get rooms as per booking & picture, rooms were poor, really not good looking outdated rooms. I saw they have nice rooms too, but it was not meant to be for us unfortunately. While checking inn staff member seemed confused and not in his place. No hairdryer, no fridge. The rooms itself 2* not three.

Verified reviewGreat stay at this nice hotel! It is about 10 minutes walk from the city centre, but 9 minutes of the walk is on a street with multiple bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel room was beatifully decorated and very clean. We had a nice mountain view from the balcony. The homemade breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Albania. We will highly recommend this hotel. You get high value for money.

Insisted on cash payment but not stipulated when booking. We were leaving the country the next morning so had no cash. Rooms very tired curtains didn’t fit window and blocked no light, sheets like cardboard

Breakfast was a bonus and Christian and other staff very sweet and helpful, A little further from the centre than expected but still walkable so not really an issue and excellent price made up for location. Nice to have balcony with city view.

Verified reviewif you are not looking for luxury, the Hotel Floga gives you an excellent value for your money. It has all you need for a stay: Air conditioning - very important in summer - Wifi, TV... It is just 15-20 minutes walk from down town away. The service is excellent and the breakfast outstanding !!

Verified reviewWe stayed here for 1 night, on a motorcycle tour. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. It was around 15 minutes walk to the town centre, with plenty of choice of places to eat and drink. Really good breakfast in the morning, with plenty of choices. I would definitely stay here again.

Verified reviewThe hotel is located perfectly well for both who walks and who drives.It takes just a few minutes to walk to the very city centre.If you drive,the way to the hotel takes over the centre,so you don’t have to waste time in the traffic. There is a private parking just in front of the hotel.It was almost full when l arrive and when l was leaving .I guess it will be better to warn the owner you need parking space to make sure your car is safe. The check-in time is 11 am comparing to 14-15 pm in most places in the city.Check-out time is up to 11 am whereas other places claim up to 10 am. Breakfast is included and it was more than generous.Everything was fresh and sufficient. My room was 306,means l had to walk all the way up as there are no lifts.No problem for me at all,thus for other people might be critical or important.They apologised for having no lift and helped me with my luggage to my room. The hotel also upgraded my room which was very nice of them.I do appreciate such attention to their guests. They speak English and the reception works 24/7.Thank you for hospitality!
