Rupa guest house offers quintessentially an authentic cultural experience. The house remains true to the landscape of Theth with its stone walls. The view from the house is stunning especially in the mornings when the sun starts to glisten and hits the mountains surrounding the place. The guest house offers traditional breakfast and supper served as if you came home to visit your family. The matriarch of the house will come and offer the main dishes of the day. Tables are set with sharing servings with a selection of mezes and the main dishes which changes everyday ( you can always look forward for what is on offer next). The place has large grounds with hammocks and benches where one can rest and relax and then come and commune with the other travellers at meal times. Main hiking destinations are as well close by. A lot of tourists go to the Blue Eye but I must say the Grunasi falls is a must visit too and its just less than an hour walk/hike away from Rupa guest house

Wow just wow! The hospitality and the food! Amazing traditional Albanian food! Women Family run guesthouse 😊 This is one of the last old houses in Theth! Everything was just perfect! The bathrooms could be improved, the shower was broken so it was quite difficult to take a proper shower. Also it was quite smelly because of the toilet, so if it cannot be prevented it should be cleaned more often.

A nice and cozy traditional stone house in the middle of this breathtakingly beautiful scenery. The host is incredibly helpful and friendly. The dinner was always delicious. The atmosphere was amazing. The room was nice and clean.

The light in our bathroom didn’t work and hit head on low doorway because of this. However, we didn’t bring it to the owners attention for them to fix as we were in and out a lot until we were leaving so I’m sure it could have been rectified.

Authentic home stay. Community vibe was great especially at meal times. Breakfast was also amazing with homemade breads, cheeses, salads and jams, mountain tea and coffee. We used this lodge to have a base and do the two day hike to valbone and back, leaving our belongings. Everything was safe. Would come back again.

The upstairs bathroom is very small. Lots of people only sharing 2 bathrooms, especially when there are also people camping. However while i was there it all seemed to work out fine and there was no wait times

I had such a wonderful time spending 5 nights here. Great for solo travellers or anyone wanting to meet other hikers and travellers. Everyone has family style dinner together, food is delicious. Breakfast is ok. My loft room was super cute and i loved staying in a traditional home. The family and their staff are lovely. A good location for walks to the blue eye and waterfall. Would highly recommend for a getaway to the mountains.

Check-in is until 18:00. My hike from Valbonë took 9 hours, so I just made it in time. I recommend leaving Valbonë no later than 8:00 in the morning. Not all beds in the dormitory had power outlets, so I had to use the ones in the hallway. The dormitory door makes a loud sound when opening and closing, and it’s hard to avoid. If you go to the toilet at night, you might accidentally wake up other travelers in the room. It took about one minute for the shower to become warm.

The dormitory beds were not bunk beds, but regular single beds, which I liked. There was a small supermarket nearby. Since this is a very small village, I only saw one other. The place seemed to be cleaned carefully and felt very clean. However, because of that, if you stay for more than one night, you might feel awkward staying in the room during cleaning time. Dinner was €12. It was filling with many kinds of dishes. You don’t choose from a menu — everyone shares the same food, so it also becomes a chance to talk with other travelers.

I really enjoyed my stay. I arrived early and left my bag there before hiking to the Blue Eye. When I returned I had a wonderful dinner with the other guests for €12. The 'Grandma' cooked so many traditional dishes - salads, soup, meat, dips, bread, pastries... and more! The food was very good and using local products and it was nice to sit with other guests and chat. The bed was comfortable and included a big warm duvet and towel. Good value for Theth and the people working there were very nice and friendly. Thank you!
