Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaAlmost everyone I met there ended up extending their stay. Aldo & the team have created such a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The shared spaces are comfortable & social, the facilities are clean, the dorms have lots of space & the street location is prime.

AustraliaNOTHING!
Kultura was amazing! Aldo and the team were so generous to us. The place was so welcoming and clean, also has great air conditioning. Aldo took us on a day trip to the canyons which was amazing, we also had an amazing meal cooked for us. The Theth hike can also be organised by the team here and they are extremely helpful with everything. Karaoke was also a highlight. By far the best hostel in Shkoder!!!!

United StatesI had such a wonderful stay at Hostel Kultura! The building itself is full of character, beautifully decorated, and has a really warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready with recommendations about Shkodër and the surrounding areas. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the center, yet peaceful enough to relax. The common areas are cozy and make it easy to meet other travelers, while the garden is a great spot to unwind. Everything was kept very clean, and the beds were comfortable with plenty of space. Overall, Hostel Kultura feels less like a hostel and more like a home away from home. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shkodër, whether for a short stop or a longer stay.

New ZealandThe hostel is very easy to find and well sign posted. It had a lovely communal area where people gather and catch up! The staff were amazing, super friendly, kind and ensured we were welcome and settled in before even asking about payment and were even up making us a coffee at 6am. They organised our transport and tickets for Valbone the next day and stored one of our bags. Our room was a private room with bathroom and was very clean, comfy, quiet and had black out blinds which was perfect! We will definitely stay here if we come back.

United StatesKultura Hostel was hands down the best place I stayed during my entire trip. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and feels like home from the moment you walk in. The rooms were spotless, the beds were super comfortable, and the common areas were perfect for relaxing or meeting other travelers. What really made it special were the hosts, Xhuljo and Aldo went above and beyond every day. Whether it was helping with travel plans, recommending places to eat, or just having a good chat, they genuinely cared about everyone’s experience. The location is also ideal, close to the city center, but tucked away enough to be peaceful at night. I extended my stay because I couldn’t bring myself to leave. If you’re coming to Shkoder, stay here. You won’t regret it.

United StatesI had such a great time staying at Kultura Hostel! The location is perfect, right on the main pedestrian street in Shkodër, close to cafes, shops, and all the major attractions. The hostel has a relaxed vibe during the day and a fun, social energy in the evening thanks to the bar downstairs, but it still stays quiet enough at night for a good sleep. What made my stay truly special were the hosts, Aldo and Xhuljo. They were both incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Whether it was sharing local tips, helping with directions, or just chatting and making everyone feel at home, they always went above and beyond. You can tell they genuinely care about the guests. The rooms were clean and comfy, the garden was a nice place to hang out, and it was super easy to meet other travelers. I also loved that they offered bike rentals and could help organize trips to Theth, Valbona or Shala River. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shkodër, and make sure to say hi to Aldo and Xhuljo while you’re there, they’re the best!

Clean, well maintained, and lovely staff who are so helpful and kind. Great social area with courtyard, karaoke and pool table. Bar is also very popular. Would 100% recommend this hostel and perfect location in the middle of a charming old town. If you’re catching a bus to surrounding areas they help you to purchase a ticket and get on the bus which is a great help. I liked watching the sunset from the balcony!

SpainI had a fantastic experience at Kultura Hostil during my visit to Shkoder. The location is simply perfect, right in the heart of the city, yet still in a quiet spot where you can rest peacefully at night. What truly made my stay special was the incredible hospitality of the staff. Everyone I met was warm, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations. They made me feel at home from the first moment. The hostel itself is cozy and has a very authentic, artistic vibe. ¡Gracias por todo!

AustraliaOnly 1 bathroom for the whole floor, but it was so quiet when I was there that it was not an issue at all. Prepare some ear plugs because the roosters and barking dogs will wake you up in the morning. On the other hand, I heard nothing from the pub
The staff was super welcoming, attentive, and friendly. For me, it made a whole difference, I felt at home. They booked all my transports to Valbone and Theth, and Giuliano even got up at 6 am to make coffee for those leaving early. So nice! The location is perfect, right in the "busy hub" of Shkoder. I was in the female dorm that has only 3 beds. There is nice little balcony in the kitchen with nice views over the roof tops. The hostel is behind a nice pub, so you don't need to go far to have a beer 😄
