Location is good, breakfast was actually really good (veg, cheese, 3 types of burik, coffee and tea, bread, home made jam etc...) The local staff is very nice and friendly, really helped me when needed help (the volunteers are less experienced though)

tried to charge me 3 euro for a towel (show them it is included in the rooms amenities) Charged 5% for credit card.. not sure why.

    - location is nice, next to the bar - There is a clear bus time table which is quite helpful - breakfast is simple but fresh

    - I booked a twin room and the shower is not so spacious

Friendly staff and volunteers, good included breakfast and an excellent private room. Great location. Kitchen facilities are well stocked.

It is not extremely social, but was nice to have the solo time.

One of the nicest private rooms we stayed in during our trip to Albania! Very spacious and had a very nice bathroom with great water pressure and heat and the balcony was wonderful.

    Nothing! It was perfect.

This hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms were really comfortable and well-maintained, and I was impressed by how clean everything was at all times. What made my stay unforgettable, though, were the people — I met some of the funniest and most interesting travelers here. Highly recommend it if you want comfort, cleanliness, and good company!

The volunteers were so friendly and welcoming. One of them arranged an early breakfast for me since my bus went at 08.00 and my cab came at 0730 so that was so nice of them, thank you so much really appreciate it. The hostel is clean and good location! 10/10

This is not the hostels fault! But at night it can be hard getting sleep if you are a light sleeper since dogs are barking outside and music plays in restaurants nearby. For me it was not a problem but another girl in my room had trouble falling asleep.

Just a really nice hostel with friendly stuff, a nice Terasse and spacious rooms. Breakfast was good and we really had a great time with the super friendly volunteers! It's location is great in one of the old parts of the city. Lorenz garden and Amalia where great restaurants just around the corner. We left our passport at the desk and the owner was very helpful to send it to us in Saranda. Thx again

I really enjoyed my time at Maya hostel, you are greeted with a warm welcome and it’s easy to make friends as there are so many social events going on that you can participate in. One of my favourite activities was the quiz night hosted by one of the volunteers, Nick. I can also recommend the rafting tour run my Miri, the owner of the hostel. Fresh and local breakfast is served daily, which can be enjoyed in the cosy common area or outside in the garden, while taking in the beautiful view of the characteristic houses of Berat with the castle in the background. Ebony and Courtney both really kindly helped me with directions for getting to the bus terminal and were knowledgeable about the bus journeys available to get to other places in albania. The volunteers and all the staff do an excellent job of showing you a good time, answering any questions and hosting events. Big thanks to everyone, especially Courtney, Ebony, Nick and of course Miri. I will be back (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Central location with great views and the hostel workers are very welcoming!

Our light didn’t work in our room, we asked a couple of times to get it fixed but it never was.

"I really enjoyed being there! It was a great stay with a great location, superb welcome, and friendly staff. The owner even arranged a tour that I wanted. Also, I’d say the hostel’s level is very high in many areas. They’ve renovated a lot of things, and it feels excellent there. Another nice thing is that you get a towel and tasty breakfast with the basic price. You can also play the guitar. Thank you very much for everything!"

It's right o the riverside with a superb view of the rock with the castle and part of the old town. On that side of the river there are very few cars going. It's calm but still very close to the center. The hostel has a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast is good.

Maya hostel is everything you expect from a hostel when traveling, Miri the owner is really nice (even dropped me at the bus station at the end of my stay), he'll be an asset in your stay in Berat. The place is a traditional ottoman house and is kept spotless. The terrace is giving you an amazing view on the castle and the hill it is on. We even got to make a fire and grill some sausages on it. Every bed's got large curtains allowing you to have some privacy in the dorms and all the rooms are equipped with AC. Part of the staff are travellers staying in for a month or more so you'll have a family vibe arriving, everyone knows each other or will do very soon. Big recommandation on the Wine tour offered by the place, 30 quids for visiting a beautiful winery working with local grapes. Careful Albanians are a fun bunch and very generous. You will end up with more wine and raki in front of you than expected. Eating before is mandatory even if cheese, fruits and various snacks will be served during the evening. Aside Berat being a really cute place, it is the hostel and its staff that made me stay longer in the region. Thanks guys, I'll be seeing you here or further down the road.
