How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was amazing, and the room was small but comfortable. A bit worried as when we arrived the room was quite warm, however in the shadow of the mountain it cooled down considerably and we had an amazing sleep. Our host was lovely, the food was amazing and my only regret is that we didnt stay a second night as we then set off for the Theth to Valbona hike. It was a short way up the hill from Theth, but this only meant we got a headstart on the hike in the morning. 10/10

The track to drive up to the hotel is quite tricky unless you are used to driving off road.

Verified reviewThe lady that runs the place is very friendly and helpful. The room was great. It was located at the start of the Theth Valbona hike and we ended up booking again on our return. They were kind enough to let us store a bag for a few nights while we hiked. The breakfast was great. The fried dough balls were some of the best I've had. The views from the restaurant were epic. Highly recommend.

Verified reviewThe location was great for the Theth to Valbone hike as it’s on the trail head. However keep in mind that if you have a lot of luggage it’s about a 30 min walk from town. The breakfast was great and we had a nice dinner. They use a lot of ingredients from their veggie garden which is great. The first time we stayed here the mattresses were great (in the new huts as the back). We were able to leave the luggage there until we returned. Views from the restaurant were amazing:)
Shower facilities (shared) were mouldy and unfortunately the boiler didn’t hold enough hot water so everyone could have a hot shower (which is kind of the main goal after a long hike). On our second night the mattress I had was unfortunately very uncomfortable so I didn’t sleep well.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed the location above main part of Theth and the beautiful view of the valley. It was a 30 minute walk to the church. This guesthouse is a perfect starting (or ending) point for a Theth-Valbonna hike. Each morning we got a tasty breakfast. The room was cozy and clean. The sheets were soft. Our host was nice and funny.
We would appreciate having a black out curtain due to the light from outside.

Verified reviewSurla was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to give us the best stay possible. She put us in a double room, despite plus booking a twin, as it became available and she saw from our notes that we are a couple. She gave us amazing advice on getting to the Blue Eye, and cooked some incredible home made food (more details below). Surla was kind and thoughtful, a perfect hostess. A massive thank you to her for making our holiday so relaxing and peaceful. The location was beautiful. It was the perfect place to start and end the day, especially for trekking as it took 1/2hr off the journey each way if you are heading to the Valbona pass. The breakfast was amazing and a very generous size, it kept us going all day! Surla was incredibly kind and made sure we had a vegetarian breakfast which was massively appreciated. We also had dinner there both nights. We ordered a mix of dishes (vegetarian soup, chips and bruschetta) and it all tasted incredible. It was lovely home made food which was comforting for the soul after a long day hiking. One thing to note if driving is that the road up from central Theth is a little treacherous but we managed it in a Skoda Fabia.
There are no negatives, we had the perfect stay.

Verified reviewBeautiful views, lovely owners, delightful breakfasts, spectacular location. Conveniently located on way to Valbone. Quite. Clean.
Gets a bit too hot in a cabin, so if you plan to spend a bit longer there there is a bit lack of space to relax during a day. Otherwise if you are out for hiking when day it doesn't matter.

Verified reviewAbsolutely stunning guesthouse, the view was just magical. The lady running the guesthouse was so kind and helpful and the rooms were very comfy and cute. The breakfast included was delicious and super fresh and we ate dinner there both nights of our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was significantly better than Valbone.
The shared bathrooms needed a little bit of work, daily cleaning/ frequently flushing toilets would be nice. Whilst we were staying there was a bit of construction going on so the noise and staff around was quite loud at times, especially since they didn’t stop till quite late and we were exhausted after our hiking so a bit of the peace and quiet was missing unfortunately.

Verified reviewGorgeous guesthouse with fabulous hosts who went above and beyond. Beautiful food - fresh fish, wonderful pancakes with fig jam for breakfast. Views to die for. After hiking from Valbone to Theth on a warm day we were so pleased not to have to continue down the mountain into Theth and walk into our guesthouse directly on the path. This does mean that you have about 1.5 Km walk into town down a rough track not suitable for cars

Verified reviewThe guesthouse was welcoming and had a hot homecooked breakfast and excellent coffee. You can arrive in the evening and order dinner off of a small menu. The location is up the hill from Theth on the trail, so it gives you a head start on the hike to Valbone.
There is no heat, but warm blankets are provided. It took awhile for my feet to warm up, and I should have thought to put warm water in a bottle at the end of the bed or to warm my socks with the hair dryer.

Verified reviewSuela was an absolutely wonderful host. She went above and beyond to accommodate us when we arrived late one day, and was always present and available to cater to ours and any other guests' needs. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - and very generous, perfect for hiking! And that view...wow! Comfy beds, hot water, lovely dinner and a cosy, calm environment. Everything perfect.
