Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumNo one was at the reception when we arrived at 1 am, probably a one time thing but it made us feel unwelcome. The room did not match the garden view we expected based on the booking, it had street view and some pines. Yet we were proposed an upgrade when we expressed that concern. Breakfast was basic, not what we would associate with a luxury hotel, limited variety. Yet everything we ate was tasty and fresh. Service overall felt a bit inattentive, undertrained and not up to 5-star standards but take into consideration that this hotel has only just opened and the willingness is there. Overall, for now it felt more like a 4-star hotel experience, but with a bit more attention to service and details, it could grow into what it aims to be.
The building is new and modern, with potential to offer a high-end experience. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. Swimming pool is amongst lovely pine trees so shadow spots when needed and there's direct access to a private beach. Beach towels in the room, are big and fluffy. The location in Golem is convenient and quiet. Really a nice beach place with a small boardwalk and a broad variety of restaurants in the neighbourhood at very low prices. Staff, especially the manager was very friendly and willing to offer solutions where needed.

New ZealandThe room allocated to us on day 1 was not consistent with the photos of sea view as advertised on Booking.com. To their credit, staff did their best to resolve this and the manageress was quite perceptive in understanding the issue and understanding that the inconsistency in the room photos needs to be remedied on Booking.com. Adjoining rooms have zero noise insulation and single room guests should insist on not being allocated an adjoining room while those rooms only have a single panel between. Breakfasts are ok, but less than 5*. Our large bed only had 1 bedside lamp (like the single panels in the adjoining rooms, we think it strange that an architect would agree to this). Most of these issues are fixable and this bodes well for Hotel Skanderbeg.
Plush hotel with stunning reception, uncrowded outdoor areas together with comfortable rooms. Staff were responsive, friendly and respectful, with good language skills. Beach area and sun lounger furniture was available and made for a relaxing time.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThis hotel was perfect choice for our trip. The hotel is very clean, new and modern. It contains all the nesessary facilities. The stuff is very helpful and always ready to resolve any issue you have. It is smaller hotel but it has everything you need. The pool is just in front of hotel and the beach few steps further. There is always enough sunbeds and umbrellas. The manager was very friendly and attentive. Claning ladies were very friendly and they kept room clean daily, changing towels and linens. All together we would highly recommend this hotel.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel has great potential with its prime location, modern facilities, and quality infrastructure. However, our stay was disappointing due to poor service and a lack of professional management. Staff across all departments—from reception to the restaurant—lacked basic customer service skills, which doesn’t reflect the level of investment made in the property. For a hotel of this standard, experienced hospitality leadership is essential. We faced several unresolved room issues: a noisy AC that no one came to check despite repeated complaints, a bathtub without hot water, and in another room, a full-glass shower wall with no curtain—offering no privacy from nearby buildings. Cleanliness in the rooms was fine, but common areas like the elevator remained dirty for days. More surprising was the complete absence of F&B service around the pool and beach—no staff, no drinks, no music—missed opportunities both for revenue and guest satisfaction. One unacceptable incident involved a simple request for bread for my child at 4 PM, which the chef refused because lunch was over. Only after escalating the issue to reception did we receive food. Most concerning was a safety hazard by the pool: an open drainage hole left uncovered. I had to drag a sunbed to cover it myself. When I alerted what seemed to be a manager, she dismissed the concern and later returned not to address it, but to sit and smoke with friends by the pool. Such service standards may be tolerated locally, but they fall far below what international guests expect—especially at a hotel marketed as high-end. To the owner: this property has serious potential, but without proper hospitality management and training, guest satisfaction will continue to suffer. Please take action if you truly care about its long-term success.
Being a brand-new property, everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The rooms were spacious, and I was impressed by the high-quality furniture throughout the hotel, which added a touch of luxury to the experience. I also appreciated the great facilities, especially having both a swimming pool and direct access to the beach – it truly enhanced the overall stay.
