The House in the Village is a gem. We stayed in the Mountain Room which was spacious, comfortable which was perfect. The house is beautiful. The volunteers were so lovely, really helped make our stay exceptional and the dinner was delicious every night. We felt spoilt during our stay

Beautiful and quiet, every detail is in the right place. Healthy space, lovely people. The cave and the river canyon are magnificent. *If you are coming from Tirana, make sure to know where and at what time to take the bus.

Liked the atmosphere, dogs were friendly, they even went to the cave with us, although one was a bit crazy he was barking at the rocks, but otherwise he stayed with us even though we took trail down the river, food was one of the best we had in Albania.

Only downside is there is no wifi, but if you have data/want no phone time, there are no faults! Also, when I was catching the bus back to Tirana it dropped us off only to the main road and told me to wait for another bus, I waited an hour or so. So just please be flexible or rent your own car!

My favourite location in Albania. The house is gorgeous, the views are insane, the breakfast is perfection and such a good distance from the local hikes. This place only attracts the best of people. The volunteers will help you in every way they can I can’t thank them enough! So grateful I spent a night here and I will be returning.

Only few washing facilities, could have been a bit more and bigger and less simple. Unpaved road leading to the House is not a "street" but an adventure itself... not really suitable for rental cars.

The Atmosphere!!!! International volunteer staff "serving" lots of stories - and an international food variety for breakfast. The garden was a little paradise, the room clean and simple. Skilled duty manager told us many local backgrounds and prevented us from printing boarding passes for the flight (you were right, not needed😀). Perfect start for a walk to the nearby cave.

There is nothing we didn't like.

We love everything about this place. I'm actually speechless, and I will gladly return there in the future. The entire concept, living surrounded by nature, garden with so many fruits, the sweetest animals with their own characters. Hospitality, kindness and open mindedness of hosts/volunteers is out of this world. You really feel like home. Huge plus point for catering vegan options. There is adventurous hike nearby, enormous Black Cave, Erze River, mountains of course. I could write a novel on how great this House In The Village is. We spent only 2 nights there but we miss it so bad already.

Fantastic location, by the mountains, canyon and caves. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, they even accommodated my dietary requirements without asking, such a lovely surprise! Vegetarian and eco friendly, local food produce from the garden or the village.

Wonderful people and an instant feeling of familiarity and home as soon as you arrive. The surroundings of the hostel in and around the village are stunning. Each day there is a good complementary breakfast and a wonderful dinner for 600 lek. Wonderful stay

You don’t want to miss the night in the mudhouse where you fall asleep watching the moon from the big window in front of you, and waking up to the little sun rays kissing your face! Loved the vibe and the staff was very friendly and kind. Probably will go back!

When we came outside to smoke we saw a dog with a big lamb chop in his mouth, eating the flesh of the bone. Also no WiFi.

Exactly what you expect. Smells a bit dusty but the place was very nice. Everything was taken care off. When we arrived we came to meet the host, walking with his bear feet in the rain. He told us there was no meat inside.

We had a great time here. After a homemade shared meal we sat around the campfire until 1.30am swapping travel stories and watching shooting stars. The staff and volunteers were very warm and helpful. The resident dog guided us up the mountain to an amazing cave, bring a good torch!

I booked for 2 nights and I ended up staying for 6. This place is so peaceful with some amazing hikes nearby. I can’t wait to come back some day!
