How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their genuine hospitality and friendly smiles. The service was attentive without ever feeling overbearing, and everyone went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. The location couldn’t be better—right by the sea with stunning views of the Ionian coastline and just a short walk to the promenade, restaurants, and nightlife. My room was spotless, modern, and well-designed, with a comfortable bed and a huge balcony. The bathroom was huge and included a built in bidet toilet! The housekeeping team did an excellent job every day. The hotel itself is stylish yet cozy, striking the perfect balance between contemporary touches and a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh fruit, local pastries, and a variety of choices that set me up perfectly for the day. Overall, this hotel truly elevated my experience in Sarandë. Whether you’re visiting for relaxation, exploring Albania’s Riviera, or just want a base with comfort and charm, I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip!

Verified review hotel in the best location. The hotel manager offered us a cruise on his private boat free of charge. The hotel facilities are new and modern. The reception staff were excellent, they recommended things to do and everything with a smile. The room was amazing, a huge balcony facing the sea and the promenade. We will definitely be back again.

Verified reviewThe hotel was very beautiful and confortable! The staff was very attentive and even gave us some cool gifts. They provided free minibar service which was a great touch.
The parking situation is a bit unfortunate, you can only park in front of the hotel at certain hours. Sarandë was very busy in general so parking was a nightmare. Not the hotel's fault, but something to note.

Verified reviewWe had a truly wonderful experience at Vale Hotel during our time in Sarandë. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The hotel itself is fantastic – modern, clean, and perfectly located just opposite the public beach, making it incredibly convenient for daily seaside strolls or a quick dip. A special mention goes to Rustem, who looked after us every morning during breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed. His kindness, attentiveness, and consistent willingness to help really stood out and made a lasting impression on us. Thank you, Rustem, for your excellent care throughout our stay! The rest of the staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful, contributing to what was a memorable and relaxing holiday. Bale Hotel is a lovely place and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Sarandë.

Verified reviewAbsolutely everything! It was impeccable and could NOT be better!!!! Hotel Vale was outstanding. It was the best experience I’ve had with hotels ever. The hotel had the most up to date modern amenities, was extremely well kept, sparkling clean, absolutely amazing friendly staff, great location, delicious breakfast. The hotel owners made us feel very welcome and special. They took us on a boat ride and showed us around. That has never happened to me and I travel quite often. The owner makes his own ice cream and we were treated to it a couple of times during our stay. One day we needed to leave early for the tour and the staff opened up the breakfast room more than half an hour early just for us! Hotel Vale is absolutely the place to stay in Saranda and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who enjoys modern amenities, personal touch, cleanliness, friendly staff and hospitality!

Verified reviewThe location was perfect on the promenade and the ambience. Staff was so helpful and welcoming. The food was amazing, they provided us with vegetarian food on request. Welcome Drinks and homemade icecream was served. Hotel also arranged free boat tour and gave us a goodbye gift. Over all the experience was 10/10
