How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewMarietta was extremely warm! She welcomed me as a son! Breakfast was amazing and everything organic from her garden. The room was very comfortable, not noise at all, perfect temperature. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals. Extra points for the herbal tea you can find there. Marietta should be the face of the Mother Armenia statue in Yerevan! She’s very nice and give an give good vibes to the Goris experience!

Verified reviewMarieta was the best host and made us feel truly welcome. As soon as we arrived, she greeted us with a warm hug, served coffee, and offered her delicious homemade cake. She was incredibly kind, and the place was spotless, cozy, and felt just like home. The location is great, and the breakfast she prepared the next morning was amazing. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Goris! Thank you for everything, Marieta, and all the best. Anja & Peter

Verified reviewAs everyone has said, Marietta is very warm, friendly, and full of hugs! She is very welcoming and, although I didn't have many specific questions, I believe she would be a very helpful resource for anyone needing guidance or more information. The private room has a comfortable bed. The apartment is in a good location, although Goris is quite small anyway. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Although this was a very nice stay, it has a bit of a premium price for the private room with a shared bathroom. The private room is very sparsely furnished, with nightstands, a desk that is extremely short, such that I had neck pain after two days of using it, and a hard stool to sit on. Not even somewhere to hang a towel or put a bag... I see many other reviews mentioned dinner. As far as I know, that was not available when I stayed, even for an extra fee. Not sure why the discrepancy. The wifi is adequate for basic browsing and work, maybe some light streaming, but if you need to have work calls, it might be a problem. Even without video, the people I was on a call with said several times that I was breaking up.

Verified reviewMarietta is a star!! Super energetic, kind and her food it’s just on another level. We forgot to call in advance to request a diner, but she managed to fix it in one hour we had more than 5 dishes on the table. Highly recommend If you want to experience a real Armenian hospitality and life

Verified reviewExcellent stay - Marietta is indeed the warmest of hosts, serving up a delicious breakfast & offering 🍰☕ on arrival ❤️ Super quiet, a short walk from the centre of town & (more interestingly) Old Goris 🏔️🏠
Not a problem for me AT ALL but anyone who is less of a fan of physical contact know that Marietta will start hugging you the minute you arrive & won't let up until you leave 🤗😉

Verified reviewIt was an absolutely incredible experience!! I have no words! Thank you so much <3 They make you feel like home and treated me as their son. Marietta prepared super delicious dinners and prepared me an additional lunch box when I told her about my hiking plans. Also she did my laundry for free. Also don’t miss out to do the tour to Khndzoresk with her husband. It was a highlight of my journey. They also drove me to the gas station out of town so I could continue my journey by hitchhiking (again without charging me!).

Verified reviewIf I could give more than 10 points, I would. Marieta is one of those rare hosts who immediately makes you feel at home—with genuine warmth from the moment we stepped out of the car. Her hospitality is heartfelt, the homemade food was a delight, and the breakfast? Absolutely exceptional. A truly unforgettable stay.

Verified reviewI just telling about the experience of staying in homestay which has no any regulations or rules or policies etc. all depends on the proprietor’s personality or trying to over charge or too mint etc. I don’t really suggest to stay in homestay according my experience!!!!!!!

Verified reviewMarieta is an exceptional host who made me feel at home the moment I arrived. From our heartfelt conversations to enjoying her delicious meals, she ensured my experience would be unforgettable. Even more than a month after leaving, I continue to think about my stay—this truly felt like a home away from home and I highly recommend it. Additionally, it's very well located, and Marieta and her husband are always happy to assist with any questions about the area, including recommendations for visiting surrounding villages and beautiful natural spots. I will be back for sure!

Verified reviewMarietta is honestly the loveliest, warmest person ever - my Armenian mum! I came during low season, it was super snowy. Her husband picked me up and dropped me off at the bus station. And I booked a tour with her husband to go to Tatev (although because of the snow I couldn’t see anything, I really appreciated them taking me nonetheless as I can imagine the drive was not easy). The place is super clean and lots of space. She is so so welcoming and cooked me breakfast and dinner. She showed me how to make Armenian gata - I’ll definitely be making this at home!! Any guest is super lucky to stay here and experience the love and warmth. Words can’t express how much I appreciated this experience. I’ll be back for the warmer weather. Merci Marietta and Karlin! I’ll be back :)
Literally nothing!

Verified reviewMarieta is the most adorable human being ever. She is so caring and full of love. True mother. She treated me like her son, and it was one of the most enjoyable stays that I have ever had. If you are looking for accommodation in Goris, this is a place to go. Must to! I had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was so tasty and big that I couldn't eat it all (btw I eat a lot). And breakfast, too, almost all homemade food. Thank you ever so much, Marieta, and I wish you all the best. Your heart and warmth are inspiring! Don't change.
Not a single thing!
