We were drawn by the idea of the place, the promotion of being in the forest, the great reviews, unfortunately the reality and experience was rather different.

It was freezing in the room because we could not turn on the heat. Likewise, we had no hot water (except for in the sink), so no way to comfortably shower, etc. The floor is cheaply paneled and felt like it might cave through in places. We were drawn to the idea of staying in the forest, but the property is rather like an abandoned, derelict resort or worker's colony. It's actually quite a ways from Dilijan proper, and the trail leading to the "cottage" is very poor and unmaintained, so you definitely don't feel like driving back and forth too often, and you feel isolated while there. There's literally nothing nearby -- food, etc. Some people might be going for that experience, as were we, so in that case just bear in mind the realities of the place you'll be staying in, and the surroundings, which in our opinion certainly didn't warrant the price, and perhaps that's the bottom line. Some people have talked about a view, and perhaps that true, but at least from the place we ended up in there was not much to see, and we were awakened by the sound of a buzzsaw in the neighboring workshop.

The house is perfect for people who like the forest. Excellent choice.

too many steps to go there and not a very good road.
