How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe garden was divine and the breakfast delicious . The MagHay is in a weird cul de sac, so dont be put off by the location. It is very close to down town. The Manager is wonderful, so helpful even though her English is limited.
Perhaps they could tell guests about the lovey park at the back? My door wascdifficult to.lock and unlock...but there wasalways someone there to help. Without air con...my room was hot.

Verified reviewVery homey feel to the place. Peaceful garden area with an array of beautiful flowers. Spacious terrace area to enjoy the outdoors in the shade. Cozy room with comfortable bed and in unit bathroom. The owner is very nice and communicative and helped set up our onward journey to Dilijan via marshrutka. Amazing dinner and breakfast for an affordable price.
Nothing, we had a great stay

Verified reviewMaghay b&b is a Garden of Eden in the center of Vanadzor. The staff is so friendly. The accommodations are fantastic - beautiful and cozy. The food is incredible. The best meals we’ve had in Armenia and we’ve traveled for 2 weeks all over the country.
Absolutely nothing to complain about! We will recommend Maghay to everyone.

Verified reviewVery clean and quiet, beautiful garden, good food in the dining room, helpful staff. They gave me a ride, for 25,000 drams, to three monasteries in the debed canyon which were just amazing. Haghpat, Sanahin, and Odzun. UNESCO world heritage sites. Simply amazing. Highly recommend it.
I had a problem turning the key in the door because you have to lift the handle in a certain direction to open in a different direction to close and it was just confusing and hard to remember. It would be helpful if they put up a sign on the doors for people who are not used to these kind of locks. We don't have these locks in the US.

Verified reviewWe booked two rooms for our stay- one budget and one bigger. The budget room was small, but perfectly enough for one night stay. The second room was just wow. Spacious, beautiful, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The yard and the seating area were stunning. We have also ordered breakfast, which was an amazing choice! Freshly made, delicious, rich with a really good coffee. Totally reccommended to everyone!

Verified reviewBest breakfast we had in Armenia. Vanadzor is not a place dripping in luxury, but MagHay allows you to experience it in homely comfort.

Verified reviewBeautiful and comfortable place very close to the city centre of Vanadzor. Extremely well done up with rustic finishes. Room had everything we needed- fridge, hair dryer, kettle, towels. Everything had already been anticipated and laid out. It was also super clean. The room was extremely spacious too AND was well heated against the spring chill. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was at 3000 drams per head and was really tasty! It was served in their very pretty and cozy restaurant. They have some adorable cats on the property too. Highly recommend for an atmospheric stay in Vanadzor!
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Verified reviewWe had a delightful stay at MagHay and recommend it highly! The homemade breakfasts and dinners were incredible - some of the best food we ate in the Caucasus. The location is close to the city center and easy to walk to cafes, the market, and the bus station. The property is well maintained and very comfortable. You can see mountains from the balcony and the garden is a very lovely place to sit and relax. They provided a taxi for us to visit the local monasteries and Debed Canyon. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They helped us learn the minibus schedule to our next destination.
Nothing.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to see you again.

Verified reviewLocated on a small lane off the main road made it difficult to find initially. Once located an easy walk from city centre . Very small room but adequate. Everything very clean . Nice courtyard garden to sit in in good weather (which it wasn't). Overpriced breakfast not taken . Well appointed bathroom but the big no-no , there was no toilet seat which is unacceptable in such an establishment . Bonus was a light switch near the bed which is unusual in Armenia.

Verified reviewIt is situated in a convenient area of Vanadzor. This B&B is very clean . It is owned and managed by a very nice family who do all they can to make guests comfortable. Not only are these people excellent hosts , they also know Vanadzor and the surrounding area very well and provide great recommendations of where to go. The food offered at the property is quite good . I had breakfast on the premises yesterday. It was a very good and prepared by a very nice woman who works closely with the B & B owners. I originally was going to stay only one night at MagHay but enjoyed the town and surrounding area so much that I will now extend my visit by a couple of additional days.
I have no criticism…

Verified reviewThe garden is a peaceful heaven. All of the hotel staff was adorable. A bunch of cute cats going around. The room was clean and comfortable. Location is nice, calm, near the mountains. The breakfast was generous and tasty homemade marmalade. Nearby, you'll find one of the best coffee/pastry in Vanadzor, Shamam's macaron. A must try. Overall it's a perfect ratio price-quality! Will come back!
