Compared with many overpriced places in El Califate, this is very good value.

It's just very far from the center away and there are no buses or anything similar stopping nar the hostel, so we had to go to the city centre by foot 40 mins or by autostop.

The view is amazing! The Lago argentino was directly Infront of our window, incredible. The kitchen is good and there are enough Bathrooms. Also we really liked the owner.

Wall is thin, we had the 1st floor room and people on the 2nd floor were sooooooo noisy. bring ear plugs with you if u r staying here. it will help. Cash only, bring peso/dollars. I needed to hit the ATM back in town without paying attention while booking. the ATMs withdraw limit is very low, fees are high. just FYI. Oh, a few big spiders found in the room, kinda creepy :P But a small bottle can send them back to the outside.... :)

Pretty good value for the place. the room is BIG! I think if the host requested the check in time to be sent to them more ahead of time, will be good. I didn't get their message while out hiking in El Chaltén, no signal, back in town and didn't check. Kinda made them waited till late in the evening, i feel bad about it. The view from the window is nice, you can see the lake from the room!! very very nice.

The property could use a little renovation or deep clean but overall you are staying in someone's house and not a hotel so it's all understandable and it's only worth to acknowledge it beforehand. It was lovely to meet Norberto's family and I think the warmth of that place equalizes any small minuses.

Norberto, the host, is a national treasure. Make sure to talk to him as much as you can. He'll help with anything and he even gave us a ride to the bus station knowing we're getting late. I loved our little chats, despite knowing just few words in Spanish. Gracias por todos, Norberto! Other than that, the room was really comfy, really warm despite the cold weather and we could use the kitchen facilities. The shared bathroom was always available when we needed. This house has also the most amazing view for lagoon and the flamingos.

Rooms are very basic and could do with a bit of decoration or love, as they are a bit ramshackle and tatty.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The kitchen is spacious and very well-equipped. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom shower was nice and hot, with good water pressure.

Hospedaje Manatiales is located around 25 min away from the main street. As we stayed there for a week, walking back and forth was a bit tiring, but it also offered us the opportunity to go the opposite direction and find a much less packed parrilla and cocktail bar overlooking the lake! The place also faces the lake and offers beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset – we even got to see a couple of flamingos at the waterside! We would definitely stay there again. The owner is very kind and had no hard time going the extra mile to make us feel comfortable at his place. We were offered one room but then moved to a bigger one, with the best view, as well as coffee and conversations with the owner, who also gave us a ride to the bus station in the middle of the night on our last day :)

There wasn’t soap in the shower, I asked to fill it in but they never did. There’s not a shop close to buy soap. The internet never connected. The electricity barely charged my battery bank. I was given towels on the second night of my 2-day stay.

It was quiet and a spacious solo room with great view. I made a late check in on a hot date which was lucky.

Horrible mattress, stained sheets and bathroom smelled so bad (tile grout missing, moldy). I did not shower. Room was first down a flight of concrete stairs and up a rickety outdoor staircase. I had luggage and the owner wanted me to leave the suitcase downstairs with him because it was heavy...what?? He did carry my bag up and down the next morning. I had to ask for towels and soap. Woke up with a sore back, unshowered. There was no lake view. I tried to use Google translate but he kept pushing my phone away. Huh? And just kept talking in Spanish. Stayed at another place in town the next night, same price, it was so nice!! Maybe this place rents out in the summer because of demand but I really cannot recommend this at all. Less than one star!

I cannot think of anything! The owner carried my bag upstairs.

Twin beds were very small and it felt like we were in the children's bedroom, that hadn't been redecorated since they left. Bedding was old and stained
