The accommodation is fairly basic but is what I wanted since it is close to many pubs and restaurants so no real complaints.

Comfortable budget accommodation, close to the major commercial centre and easy to find. Good access to route 40. Very knowledgeable and educated owner. The local supermarket is a few minutes walk and has everything you need. The local petrol station also very handy and petrol prices in Argentina are still low Will stay again.

In general, I learned that discerning world travelers would do best to avoid hosterías in Argentina.

It was a pain to pay and get a receipt at checkout. Note that with currency issues in Argentina you don't really know what your true costs will be if you're using USD and this platform, you have to guesstimate (generally ends up being cheaper than you thought though, which is nice). Breakfasts in Argentina - in general same everywhere I went (truly awful by int'l standards but visitors shouldn't gripe, so I didn't. Just be prepared...I did my research, so I knew I'd probably have to buy breakfast elsewhere, & that's what I did). Gross marks on walls, cobwebs on high rafters - these are also sort of de rigueur in hosterías. Just be prepared if you're going to stay in one.

Walking distance to Cafe Antibes Parking lot/back door behind hotel (would have been nice to know I could unload suitcases there instead of lugging them up the front steps but staffer watched me do it and never said anything)
