Reviews of Tango de Mayo Hotel 4 stars

This is a very nice hotel. Nicely decorated with information about the history of the building frames in the lobby. The theme of the decor matches the Tango name. The staff were very pleasant, very helpful to match us with restaurants for our evening dinners. The room we stayed in was very beautiful, the king sized bed was very comfortable unlike the twin sized one for my son.

Just to list a few things that were not to my liking, but please note this is just based on my experience. I didn't care too much for the location, not many things to do. It wasn't a great choice as a pick up for many excursions. I really was not impressed with the breakfast choice. It was very basic, cereal, some fruits, croissants, bread, eggs, coffee or juice. I didn't really have a view from my room, just looking at someone else's apartment. I can't blame the hotel for not having a pool, but it would have been ideal.

Opening the restaurant area at weekends with some music and basic dinner options in the off peak season?

Very large comfortable rooms. Bathroom with shower...very clean. Very silent. Exceptional staff.

Maybe the restaurant could be open at weekends during off peak season?

Okay, I didn’t really like the room decor as it was too red for me. But that is up to personal tastes, so can't really complain about it.

Very noisy & room was stuffy. Double glazing the windows would help with the street noise

very spacious and comfortable room, great decor. The location is unbeatable. The staff is very friendly, at the reception as well as breakfast. Breakfast very good and rich.

Like everywhere else in B.A there is is noise from the city. This is though inevitable.

Breakfast could be better.

Great location on Avenida de Mayo, within walking distance of the main attractions. Friendly and professional staff, and a good complete breakfast.

During our first stay, the room on the first floor was very cold due to poor window insulation. On our second stay, the room was much better, with a smaller window and proper sealing.

Room was fantastic and spotless. There were 2 bottles of complimentary water each day. Location was excellent and close to everything you need. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety.

It was a little difficult to figure out how to put on the heating as we were there in the middle of winter and there was no obvious way to do it. The mini bar drinks were expensive. Whilst we expected the roof top bar to be closed due to the season, it was disappointing to note that the bar in the lobby also was closed in the evening so we had to go somewhere outside to have a drink.

The hotel was in an awesome location - very central and in a beautiful spot, close to a lot of attractions and the subway. The breakfast included was great for tourists as it had both Argentine options and eggs, cereals, fruit and toast etc. The hotel recommended the El Querandi Tango show which was an unforgettable experience that we will treasure for years to come.

It’s probably outside the hotel’s control but Buenos Aires can be noisy. We were kept awake by people on the street yelling at 3am on a Monday. This didn’t have a huge impact on our stay as we understood we were staying in a central location where lots of people go out etc

Upgrade for free, early chack- in

excellent location, in the heart of BA! Staff were helpful and welcoming. We had a very comfortable stay here, rooms and lobby were clean! Shower was excellent! Breakfast was okay, and fitness centre wasn’t fit for purpose!
