Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanIt was very quiet, except for the presence of a playground, which was quite noisy from about 1900-2100 with screaming and crying kids, which is out of their control and not their fault.
Very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, excellent value for the price.

MalaysiaNot that clean, there were bugs in the room. A bit noisy at night despite the quiet times.
It was close to the metro and buses. Good location with restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

TurkeyThe room was very small, and since there was no ventilation system, even the smallest bit of cooking would fill it with smoke. On top of that, it wasn’t really clean. The top of the microwave was dusty, like it hadn’t been wiped, and the edges and corners of the bed were also covered in dust. Also, the cupboards were completely empty. I would have expected at least some basic essentials like salt and oil, especially for longer stays.
Its location, the kitchen and kitchen appliances being complete and fully equipped, and having sufficient storage space

United KingdomThe bed mattress can be better.
Very good location, room, facilities for a budget traveller. I read some "scary" reviews about its cleanliness, being located on 4th floor without elevator, ... But everthing was actually fine.

United KingdomThere was no soap, shampoo, or shower gel in the shower. I saw that the reasons quoted for this were “hygiene,” but I don't see how that would be an issue because if they provided small individual soaps and shampoos or even a dispensable one, it's not like other people could actually touch it – I think it was more cost-related rather than hygiene-related. The same with washing tablets for the washing machine – you have to have your own. Luckily, I read the reviews beforehand and had brought my own shampoo, conditioner, and soap. There is a kettle as mentioned, but not even one tea bag – you have to buy it yourself. I brought my own so it wasn't a big deal, but I guess it would have been nice if there were at least a couple provided. Also, whenever I would go to the toilet there would be quite a loud fan noise for about 3 minutes, so it wasn't ideal at night, and when going through the hallway the light is automatic so it turns on and then only turns off by itself after a few minutes. However, these are minor issues.
What you see is what you get. You never know what flat you'll get, as there are multiple flats they offer, but you can't choose. I was given number 19 on the 3rd floor, so I can only comment on my experience there, as from my understanding each of these apartments is different, with different layouts and even square footage. It was great – very spacious. It was a full flat with a living room/kitchen, bathroom, and a separate bedroom. The flat itself is a bit dated (however, the pictures are accurate and truthful, so you know what to expect), but it is clean and has necessities such as an iron and ironing board, kettle, full-sized fridge, dishes, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and a work desk. It was perfect for me for a short stay as I was working remotely. It has a dining table as well and two TVs – one in the living room and one in the bedroom. As most mentioned, it doesn't have air conditioning, but it wasn't a huge problem for me as it had a portable fan. The plastic windows work great to prevent noise from the street, but the street itself wasn’t even noisy as it's a residential area. The check-in was very smooth – I was given a code for the main door and then a set of keys in a box by the door. The location is great – Messe-Prater station was around 5–7 minutes away, and there’s a McDonald's by the station. The city center was no more than 20 minutes away by metro. The famous Prater amusement park was around a 10-minute walk, so I didn’t even need to use transport for that. There is a SPAR food shop (which also sells coffee to go) literally opposite the building, less than a minute away, and there is also a LIDL 2 minutes away. Overall, it was a great stay – really made sense for me as it was great value for money. I would recommend it.

United KingdomWould have given a higher rating if more effort was made with small things that matter to travellers. Great accommodations provide washing machine tablets knowing that travellers only require 1 or 2 for a single wash. Clothes horse for drying needs replacement, multiple lines broken. Etc
Good location. Nice older building. Great large windows; very bright.

NetherlandsThe apartment is a bit dated, which means that the airconditioning is only a fan, the toilet facility smells and also pillows on the sofa didnt look fresh either. Also pillow on my bed was horrible and although bedding was clean, matras cover didnt look like it was changed before.
The location, close to the underground and therefore close to the center, close to the supermarket and my to my congress location. also the appartement room was quite spacious and the host was very friendly and helpful. And no noise at all, neither from the neighbours no from outside and kitchen had even a dishwasher and all one needed, although i did not make use of the kitchen.

SwedenFirst of all, there was dirty toilet paper in the toilet bin when I arrived. It was really disturbing. It’s supposed to be a non-smoking room but you can clearly smell the cigarette, especially near the kitchen area. There is AC in the room, but it cannot be turned on. Apparently it can only be turned on when certain temperature is reached, but this was not communicated ahead of time. I had a hard time sleeping due to the high temperature in the room. There’s supposed to be a coffee machine in the kitchen, but it was not there.
Good location, very close to the business school. I like it that there’s a washing machine in the room. Very good value for the price.

SwedenDidn't like the automatic sensory lights in the bathroom and hallway as they stayed on longer then I wanted at night time. No elevator as you need to carry your luggage up stairs. Also love it when a TV has access to the Internet when abroad as most countries tend to dub everything, but that's me being spoiled and nothing that affected my stay.
It was easy to find, relatively close to the train and tram station. There's plenty of supermarkets and restaurants on the street and around the area. The room was big and convenient. Had everything I needed. Double tv's, fan, plenty of storage, kitchen was alright. They had a laundry machine which is always extremely thankful when travelling for longer periods of time , and an iron if one would like to use that. Plenty of easy information before arrival (in English also) with pictures of where and what codes to enter to get through the doors. Had no problems at all. Happy!

United KingdomJust minor quibbles - the apartment could get a little stuffy, but the owners provided a powerful plug-in fan which was much appreciated. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in the hallways of the building, which was noticeable inside the apartment anytime I was near the front door. When using the shower, water would quickly spread across the floor of the bathroom, though there was a mop provided which dealt with the problem very effectively..
The apartment was clean and fitted with all the necessary mod-cons - the washing machine in paritcular was very useful. Powerful shower. Building was quiet, no noise from neighbours. Easy access - full instructions were given on how to enter. Good location - near enough to centre to be convenient, but away from major roads. Good price, too. Messe-Prater U-Bahn only a few minutes walk away, so you can be in centre of the city in 15-20 mins, or take a walk through the Prater and along the canal and be at the Ring in 45 mins. Spar and Lidl supermarkets literally across the road from the building, very convenient.
